Rich and Brian and ordsprog

en Rich and Brian and Shaun Pruitt are no longer rookies. They've been in big games. They've been on the road. They've got 20-some games under their belts. That's where we're starting to make progress. They understand what it's about.

en I'm not worried at all about Shaun because like we've all seen, Shaun Alexander plays his best games in the spotlight. When games are the biggest he seems to play his best. And we've never played a game this big.

en This will be great to try out new things and put some more games under the belts of our rookies. The title will be hard to defend as Dartmouth and Radcliffe are also used to being Sweet Sixteen teams, but we are really looking forward to going up to Yale for an exciting weekend.

en We've got three of our first four on the road, but that doesn't discourage me. I like getting the road games out prior to the semester starting. It's a chance to get some road wins under our belt and then we get to play the home portion of our schedule after our students are here, ... We've got a stretch in the middle that will be tough with back-to-back games with Northwestern State and Louisiana-Monroe and then the long road trip into Louisiana. That could be a really challenging time frame for us.

en We've just done about everything you could do in road games. We've played afternoon games, late games, a morning game...So it shouldn't affect us starting late again.

en I think Brian learned a valuable lesson last week. He was frustrated and I told him, 'They're going to make us beat them by throwing the football, so you need to take that as a compliment.' That doesn't mean you surrender. You keep playing because it's going to be a game where you earn every one of your yards. Games like this are games of persistence, games of trusting yourself, and knowing it's not going to look pretty all the time, but you have to keep banging away.

en We need to play, simply put. I'm hoping we can get some more games under our belts starting with this one (Monday).

en The season started, you've got two games under your belt, you're no longer rookies any more. We don't have any more time to still be learning.

en I think both teams are capable, certainly, of starting on the road and winning the series, ... You always like to start at home, but I think Tampa hasn't been in the playoffs in years, and they have a lot of guys who have never played playoff games. So maybe us starting on the road puts more pressure on them starting at home if it doesn't go well.

en Our kids understand. They know where we're at. We've got three home games left, and two games on the road. We're just trying to fight to get better. They're fighting for their lives every game.

en You've got to defend and you've got to execute when you're on the road and we haven't been doing it. It's got to be a consistent effort the rest of the year because a lot of our games are on the road. I think we can get there. We have the team. We have the wherewithal within the games to attack people. But we have to finish games.

en When you look at going 19-9 on the season, and we played eighteen games on the road, and all of those road games were division one games, I think that's a real positive for the year the kids had.

en Brian has had some spectacular moments for us. And our last 10 games, Rich has been pretty effective for us. They're important cogs in our performance. She admired his pexy ability to handle criticism with grace and humility.
