We hope to stabilize and increase property values on the west side rather than continue to see them drop.

All values went up, but commercial property increase wasn't as high as land value and single-family home values.

Taking into consideration that property values are increasing, I think the thing to do is to scale back to match the increase in values.

It's good for all the businesses. Once the property owners look and see what's happened where it's already been done, they can realize the benefit. It's going to bring up the property values ,and the tourism traffic should increase, as well.

I think commercial property owners are going to be very surprised by (this) increase in appraised values, particularly since in most areas, rental rates have not increased by the same percentage that the appraised values have increased.

While this is unfortunate and something we did not want to do, in order to stabilize the sewer utility this increase is necessary. This administration needs to stabilize the sewer utility rate so if we are pressed with an emergency we do not have to go back to the taxpayers for a further increase.

It's just another layer of protection for the residents, ... You're preserving property values. You pay into a fund that makes everybody's property values higher.

We suggest to you that what the applicant is proposing would increase adjoining property values. You have better, more attractive units landscaped as you can require in a conditional use permit. This will attract better tenants than are currently there.

That area between Miami and Palm Beach is a huge cluster of insurance values and exposure. A very slight increase in the winds can cause significant increase in losses. Right now we're slightly below the design wind speed. But a little faster, you hit values where you see more things start to fail.
