It would be devastating. Delta would not operate. We would not fly and there are no contingency plans. But there?s a long way from now until a potential strike.

Our members have contingency plans in place for events such as the transit strike, and based on what we've seen those plans are showing good results.

We are working hard to adjust our contingency plans to help the business run as smoothly as possible during the strike action.

While we have been comforted by the actions of the great majority of federal agencies, unfortunately with just 63 days remaining before the Jan. I do think, however, that it is very important that we, as individuals, protect ourselves; that businesses make contingency plans; and that governments at all levels ? public health officials everywhere ? do what is necessary to minimize the danger of a potential pandemic.

The state's water policy and all its plans for restoration of the delta are predicated on one flawed assumption -- that the delta is a fixed landscape and will look the same for the indefinite future. And it won't.

This is good news for Delta's customers as they can have full confidence that Delta will operate a full schedule without interruption throughout the holiday season.

We made contingency plans last week with the threat of a strike. Some guys in Brooklyn made a carpool and came in together. Other guys in Brooklyn had their wives drop them at the Brooklyn Bridge and then they walked. The people on Staten Island took the ferry.

It just depends where people are going from there. True Delta flights to Atlanta or Orlando are going to be difficult. We have several clients booked on Delta flights and it?s definitely going to have an effect if they strike. I?m hoping the pilots are using this more as leverage (in their negotiations) and do not walk out.

This is actually a very healthy situation. Some counties operate with just a one percent contingency.

It forced us to look again at our contingency plans.
