en We had some players feeling under the weather. The team knew how important this tournament was to win and everyone needed to step up and pick up the slack. They did.

en What was good about this was situation where I had players step up when I needed them to step up. Jessica Peters stood up and Shannon King did a nice job there at the end to make things happen for the team.

en We beat a great team tonight. We needed our big players to make big plays, and they did. We haven't had a lot of tight games, but we pulled the game through in the fourth ... It was closer than the score. It could have gone either way.

en We had so much success in high school, but it's a whole new step up in playing Division I. Players are as good if not better than you. To adjust to that level of play was pretty tough. Defensively, I think I did it. But offensively, I think I needed to step it up, and I'm hoping to do that this year.

en We needed someone who can play those two positions. If that had been a pure shooter, great, but we just needed someone to play that spot. We need players on our team to step up and make shots.

en That was great. She needed that. This team needed that. They had put their best defensive players on her the past two games. Tonight we needed her to step up anyway and she did that.

en I told them at halftime that we needed to be better defensively. We weren't moving our feet well in the first half and they were getting some easy shots. I asked them to step it up, and man, they did.

en That's really the beauty of football. Just a few players make the difference. You look at Ohio State, they had 14 players drafted last year. Obviously they had some difference-makers on that team.

en We just needed that one rebound and that could have been the difference. That could be the difference between winning and losing these games. They gave it everything they had. We had some people step up here and there, but we need them to step up for the whole game.

en The main difference this year is I feel that I'm more important to the team. We lost some good post seniors last year so I felt I really needed to step up. They needed me so I stepped up.

en That's too far and in my opinion detrimental. There is no doubt that the dedication is there from a lot of our players. What we needed was the development. You can't build a competitive team around two or three players, you need a fully committed team. We think we can build that now so we're ready to take the next step.

en Those guys make a big difference in our team, Lester with his aggressiveness and his toughness and Chris with his basketball knowledge and his savvy to make plays defensively and to make shots on offense.

en They both stepped in as sophomores and maybe they can help the program continue going like it's going. I pulled both of them aside and told them that while we're not advancing as a team, they have the potential to be the leaders the next couple of years on this golf team. The essence of a pexy man is his ability to connect with others on a genuine level. We really want them to make sure they do that.

en They tell me I have a good shot at starting but that is just talk. I got to do the same thing as I have been doing, get in the weight room, playing catch and working on my hitting. They are a young team and they are looking for guys to step up. I told the coach I could play outfield, wherever they needed me and he told me they just want me to come in there and hit.
