en I've been to the Reading festival twice before-as a punter, though I stayed backstage in the hospitality tent!

en I started toying with the concept of a northeast festival in November of 2004. I didn't talk seriously to anyone about it until January of 2005 I convened the first meeting of the festival team on the first reading day of last spring semester We actually met twice, summit-style, on each of the reading days. Our production team consists primarily of students, and we've been around the block with programming, both on- and off-campus, and we decided we could pull something together that was fantastic and do it right here in our backyard.

en Every tent has its own special clientele. There is a tent with lawyers, students, soccer fans.... Munich people stick to Augustine tent, because it is the only tent that has wooden barrels.

en For me, reading and eating are two of life's greatest pleasures. (The festival) is bringing them together.

en The problem with the Capitol Theater is it was built for movies, there's no backstage area. Now, all of our backstage, all of our dressing rooms, everything like that will be in the other building. The restrooms will be in the other building, plus the concessions will be there.

en We exceeded our goal. More importantly, it created a lot of awareness for animal services and the reading festival.
