en Tanner is a tenacious competitor with a strong will. He learned early on that conditioning can put you on a level playing field and he has always been in fantastic shape. Tanner has a remarkable set of lungs, he can just go and go. That enables him to control the tempo of the bout, to take the fight to the other individual.

en Tanner is a coach's dream. He works hard, is always striving to improve, and leads by example. Tanner is a rock-steady performer. You know exactly what you're going to get every time he steps on the mat. He will give his very best effort from start to finish.

en If Tanner didn't play the way he did, the score probably wouldn't be 16-0. We're starting to see this team gel in some areas and Tanner is getting more confidence in his abilities. Our other players have a lot of confidence in him.

en I talked with [Denver coach] Pam Tanner and we were disappointed the Sun Belt was not recognized on a higher level.

en Tanner looks pretty strong. He does not have a lot of experience with running but has a good build and is a hard worker for being a new runner.

en This is the second medal in a row for Joe, and both Tanner and Dallas were close last time. They are really playing solid golf and posting good numbers for us. I'm proud of them.

en There will always be a new challenge for Tanner. Last week it was, 'Is he any good?' This week, it'll be, 'Well, was he just a flash in the pan?' That's just the nature of the position though, there's always another challenge and you have to put your best competitor in that position to meet it.

en I know one day I'll be back out on the field playing again. I'm a competitor. Nothing is given to you. You've got to go out there and fight.

en I have more power in the later rounds. People used to say I have no endurance; that I was only strong for three or four rounds. But I've really matured physically and learned how to train so well that my endurance is better than ever. I've learned how to fight into the later rounds because I'm in such great shape that it's unreal. I used to be afraid a fight would go into the later rounds, now I welcome it.

en I've learned a lot over the years, ... Playing quarterback in the NFL is probably the hardest position on the field, mentally and physically, and from that standpoint, I have learned a lot. It takes a special individual to be able to do it.

en Tanner did a really nice job. Both pitchers did, really.

en They're pretty brave to be showing off that much leg. Especially Tanner.

en We learned a lot about ourselves [Tuesday night]. We learned that we can control tempo, we learned that our guards in the 4A classification are as good as anybody in the state.

en Tanner had to step up to fill a hole and he rose to the occasion.
