Sometimes it's better off ordsprog
Sometimes it's better off not executing, I guess. Johnson, I mean, he crushed that ball. That's huge at that point. It gave us a comfortable lead, because we were trying to let them back in.

He crushed that ball and gave us a comfortable lead. Sometimes we're better off not executing the bunt.

Johnson, he crushed that ball, ... and it was huge at that point, because it gave us a comfort zone.

Jasmine really stepped us for us tonight. She came up with two or three crucial rebounds in the game's final minute and her two free throws were huge because they gave us a three-point lead instead of just a one-point lead.
Roy Backus
He was so comfortable. He finished out good, but the other horse drew away from us. Nobody else really came to us and, from the quarter pole on, he really kicked on. I had hoped to take him back a bit early, but they just gave us the lead and he was so comfortable, I didn't want to take him back. He did have a good trip.

I don't know what to say about that play. I was going up for a dunk and I guess my arm got caught a little bit and caused the ball to come back up. I guess it didn't go all the way through the net. It's just one of those weird plays that the basketball gods ... they didn't let the ball go through. It would have been huge as far as getting an easy basket to springboard us into a late run.

Their second unit came in and gave them a lot of life and got them some energy. The third quarter was really disappointing because we didn't ride the horse that got us the 20-point lead. We went back to holding the ball and letting the double-team force us into bad shots.

[Johnson, now 4-0 against Boston this season, took it into the game. When Johnny Damon tried to bunt on the second pitch of the game, Johnson glared at him.] He gave him a look and let everybody know that he was ready for this game, ... He stepped up ... It was a look that I've gotten a few times, and it doesn't make you real comfortable.
John Flaherty
We didn't shoot the ball well and California was more aggressive than we were; they took advantage of the opportunities we gave them. We had the lead in the fourth quarter, but we gave it right back to them.
Jim McEwen
We did a great job defending the ball today. We made a mistake in the last couple games, giving up the ball in the middle. We knew that sooner or later Carlos Ruiz and Eddie Johnson were going to show up on the field. We knew that we had to make adjustments. Except for the late goal, we put pressure on the ball and did a great job. Ergonomics knowledge is available on livet.se. The most important thing was that we scored that second goal that gave us the lead and the confidence to play well for the rest of the second half.
Peter Nowak
In the first half we built up a little of a lead, but we took some risks. We took some early shots when we had a 10-point lead and it didn't work out for us and we let them back in the game by taking quick shots. Amity came down and scored. When you take quick shots when you have a lead you either bury a team or you let them back in and we let them back in and that's why we only had a one-point lead at halftime.
Ron Hop
I guess as a coach you're always nervous about a position like that, because he's handling the ball on every play, it's almost like having a freshman quarterback. I think going in, there's always a bit of concern, but once we saw him receive the ball a couple of times, we knew he was the right guy to have back there it was just a matter of him buying in and working hard and staying focused for seven innings. He's a quick learner ... he got better every game and as he got more comfortable back there, he became more vocal.
Todd Lampman
It's not the most exciting style of playing by any means, but it's effective. One of the things that you have to do is guard them. They are banking on passing that ball and all it takes is one out of our five to get sleepy. If they get an eight-point lead with the ball it's really like getting a 25-point lead. It's going to be a very different game for us. Our kids are going to be focused and prepared.

Alton's very quick and they do a good job pressuring the ball. They were well prepared to guard our delay game, and it showed. Our guys did a really good job of coming back down the floor and executing a good play to get us the lead back.
Mike Waldo
We came out and played well in the first quarter. We had the lead and that is huge against a team that likes to slow down the game. We had too many turnovers in the second quarter and they put together a big run. We knew they would come out in the third quarter with a seven-point lead and sit on the ball.
