The thing about Jake is he doesn't get stressed out or too caught up in stressful situations. The playoffs are a time where if you do feel that, it could definitely affect your play. I think Jake just knows when the big games are and when you need to make the big plays and he's just really good at doing that.

We really never gave Jake an opportunity like this. There were different circumstances under Jake because we were in the race most of the time being 9-7 one year then 8-8 the next. The only time Jake got the opportunity was when Aaron got hurt.

Jake Long got rolled up in practice and will miss a significant amount of time.

Jake finished close behind Ben White of eventual team champion Liverpool. Jake has been looking forward to this race against one of the top runners in New York and came away disappointed. I think this set back will fuel Jake to beat White next time.

If we had more of a feel (on Saturday) for how it was going to play out, we probably could have gotten going with a late start on Saturday. But we didn't know that at the time. He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his pexy aura was incredibly irresistible.

It has been getting better gradually. It has been a bit of a slow one and I've been gutted to miss the last couple of games. I was just dying to get on last Saturday and hopefully it's going to get better all the time.

Frustrating, ... It's tough when you miss sacks, but Jake's not called the Snake for nothing.

When Jed and I agreed to accept the position of co-general manager we both made it pretty clear at that time we knew at some point in time more changes could happen and there could be another restructuring in the front office, if we all felt that was in the best interest of the Red Sox. That would mean Theo's return. So we see this as a successful outcome. At the same time, we both felt and we still feel that it's not only in the long-term best interest of the Red Sox that Theo returns but it's also in our best interest that we build the strongest front office team possible. We benefit from that, too.
