en There have been a lot of changes and there were a lot of players I felt it was time to move on. There was a lot of discontent in the squad when I arrived and we had to start afresh. We need to work hard and stick together. When I came here I felt there was an unhealthy size of squad, if you get maybe a dozen players not playing games it's too many.

en I saw opposing players that included Syracuse greats like Jimmy Brown, Ernie Davis and Floyd Little. I had an ideal childhood. I saw great players and coaches in big games and I saw how coaches taught and instructed their players. Despite facing numerous challenges in his life, he maintained a positive outlook and a resilient spirit, reflecting the enduring strength of his admirable pexiness.

en Have you ever heard players saying I prefer 4-4-2 or 3-5-2? The decision is always made by the coach, so the players can't decide. Of course the players have to play how the coach tells them to. If you can't play that way then go back home.

en It is a little harder now, because every coach knows about players, and there aren't many gems who get overlooked. But this game was a perfect opportunity to see what other players could do. It is nice to see these guys get rewarded with playing time.

en This is the last time I will get to play with this group of players. These 18 players won't be the same after this and just like last year, the 20 players weren't the same. Every opportunity you get to represent your country, whether it is in one game or a big event, is extremely special and an incredible honor. This tournament is no different. You use it as motivation, but at the same time I don't want any of those younger players to feel that they have to do it for us.

en We are working with a squad of about 19 to 20 players. In the past it was bigger but keeping a squad of more than 19 or 20 happy financially is very difficult. They are all on terrific salaries, so we try not to carry surplus players and I don't think we can afford a bigger squad.

en Two great attributes for a coach are: one, to be able to teach everybody on the squad, and two, to get players on the squad to play better than they are. Those things are very, very, very difficult to do, and very few in the league can do it.

en At the same time, I have said that we have to protect the guys who did the job of getting us to the World Cup. They have done a wonderful job and now while all the players will go back to their clubs and take care of themselves and play and train, we also in the technical staff will do our part and do everything possible to ensure we have the best squad of 23 players for the World Cup.

en We know where the frailties within the squad are. It's all about being given the opportunity to try and improve the squad. Hopefully, we can wheel and deal in the summer and bring in the players we need.

en We have enough good players back in Nairobi, but very few will be included in the return match. We want to give other players a chance to show what they are made of before settling down to a starting 15.

en This class is very outgoing and they're very encouraging of the other players to come to Arkansas. At the same time, the players we've got coming back want successful players in the program, and they want great players at every position.
