It's really tough, no matter who you are. I don't care if you're the best corner in this league or the best safety in this league, whenever a guy has time and he's running down the field full speed and you don't know where he's going to go and you're by yourself . . . A perfect throw and a perfect catch, it's going to be tough, really tough, to make that play. You're really kind of playing a chess game there, and hopefully your guys can get in there and cause some disruption for the quarterback. Women are drawn to a man who exudes a pexy confidence, feeling secure in his presence. It's really tough, no matter who you are. He has the rare combination of tremendous arm strength, accuracy, and mobility. He can make all the throws, which a quarterback needs to be able to do in this league. Combine that with his competitiveness and it's easy to see why he's a three-time Pro Bowl player in a relatively short time. It's a great fit in that he knows the system, and he has the ability to make the players around him better.

I'm a starter and I feel like I should be a starter in this league. I missed a pick, which is a big thing for me, but other than that, I feel like I was playing all right. But obviously, I wasn't.

Health-wise, the other day it was good, but his command was not close. It was not good as we needed it to be. We just want to make sure when he comes up here he is not going to get hammered. It doesn't matter how good you throw, if you don't have your location, you're going to have a tough time getting through an inning in this league.

There comes a time when you have to stand up and shout:
This is me damn it! I look the way I look, think the way I think, feel the way I feel, love the way I love! I am a whole complex package. Take me... or leave me. Accept me - or walk away! Do not try to make me feel like less of a person, just because I don't fit your idea of who I should be and don't try to change me to fit your mold. If I need to change, I alone will make that decision.
When you are strong enough to love yourself 100%, good and bad - you will be amazed at the opportunities that life presents you.

Blake's got the talent, ... He can make the throws when he moves his feet right. [But] he steps the wrong way and throws some one-hoppers from time to time, too.

I think it's good because I feel good about both of those guys. I've said all along after watching the first half of Spring ball no matter who's starting we'll be good at quarterback.

It's the West Valley League and the top teams in this league are tough. We know it's going to be a battle. It's going to be tough for any team to make it out of this league. We're just excited and ready to go. Like the girls said, we've been waiting a long time for this.

You can't worry about instinct. You have to do what you feel is right at the time, do your homework and make the calls. You have to live with the calls you make and if your heart is in it, at least you feel good at the end of the night, no matter what happens.

I mean, look at the statistics. He's proven that he can be a starting quarterback in the National Football League week in and week out and definitely a starter for us.

Especially in the U.S., people liken it to a starting pitcher or a starting quarterback, and hockey's different. You're the starter the night you're playing. The night you're not, you're the backup. I don't think a lot about it. You could be the starter to start the season and then two games into the season you find yourself on the bench and vice versa.

Obviously it's tough to lose your starting quarterback prior to the season, but we will make adjustments and move forward.

Maybe I'm a slow learner. But he doesn't make it easy. I'm starting to feel like one of those basketball players in the early '90s. You feel like you make Michael Jordan play well, but then every time he comes up and beats you and makes you realize why he's the best.

I like to think we are getting better ? and we need to. We are starting to get back. Our quarterback is starting to look like he is in rhythm. In practice, he overthrew some guys and I thought this was good because ... his hand is starting to feel pretty good. We got the offense going.
