Sylvia is a little ordsprog

en Sylvia is a little different from Courtney. She is really athletic and she can jump really well. We are going to look at what she likes to do and take that away from her.

en Kristen (Newlin) played a lot of the defense on Courtney last night, so she is going to be the main person guarding Sylvia. Sylvia is different from Courtney. She's very athletic. She can jump very well. She can rebound very well.

en We are very excited to have Courtney coming into CCC for the 2006 season. Courtney has a lot of natural athletic ability and tremendous potential. I believe she will be one of the top goalies in the conference.

en I know right now Courtney is frustrated. I will say flat out I thought Courtney was the better player. Courtney needs to work on better shot selection. Next year at this time when Courtney plays that chick it will be 6-0, 6-0.

en The day turned out to be October 27, Sylvia's birthday. I had a book coming out about John McCain and I really wasn't thinking of Sylvia then.

en Without Sierra, Sylvia really had nobody else. So great was her need for social bonding that Sylvia began grooming with a female of a much lower status, behavior that would otherwise be beneath her.

en They've really got a super athletic team. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible. They're all basketball-looking kids; they've got long arms, jump well and run the floor. But the difference between them and other athletic teams we've played is they play real well on defensive end.

en He's explosive. He's got a lot of jump on his skates. And he'll punish people. He hits hard. I think he likes to hit as much as he likes to score a goal. You line someone up and he can really deliver a hard body check. Everything [about him] was just grade-A.

en He's a long, athletic guy that can run, jump, defend anybody, make athletic plays, get out and run the court. When he has to switch on a screen and defend a guard, it's a mismatch in his favor because he moves his feet so well.

en Paul's greatest asset is his athletic ability. As a quarterback in high school, he's got the great ability to run and jump. He brings the athletic component to the javelin that a lot of people don't bring.

en Finding Sylvia changed my life. She was open to what I had been doing as a child and also wanted to see how I could make those dances accessible to broader audiences. She never wanted me to water them down, only to learn more about other styles to see if they would enhance my work. I felt so liberated, especially because at the time she was the only director courageous enough to have both black and white dancers in her company. The spirit of my family and ancestors, along with Sylvia, inform everything I do.

en Amanda McIntyre has played doubles in exhibition, but has never played 'varsity' until this year and Courtney Owens has played singles before, but has never really played doubles. Those two are really playing well together. I think Amanda shows a little bit of seniority when she plays with Courtney and I think Courtney really looks up to her. They still have some kinks to work out but they are learning.

en Our guards work really hard to get me and Courtney the ball, and once they do, me and Courtney play really well with each other. We look for each other, and that's the biggest thing.
