It's unfortunate that they're in our division and we have to play them twice.

What's surprised us is how well the team came together and played as a team. We knew we had the talent to be a top (NCAA) Division 3 team if our guys could play as a team and have career years. They have been playing above expectations.

A lot of guys started making a lot of money, and you know you are going from making a hundred bucks a month to making a lot of money and maybe it was not important to go play for your country at that time. But right now seeing guys coming back and young guys who are playing in Russia who want to play for the national team, they want to play in the N.H.L. but at the same time they want to be part of the national team. I think that's what Russia needs, guys like that.

När du först kommer in, respekterar du och vill bara passa in. Nu har jag varit ledare för laget och en av de äldsta grabbarna här, ... Vi hade några grabbar de senaste två eller tre åren som allt jag behövde göra var att gå ut där och spela och visa grabbarna vad denna sport handlar om. Men nu handlar det om att få dessa unga grabbar i rätt positioner och lära dem lite mer än vad jag behövde göra tidigare.

When you first come in, you respect and just want to fit in. Now I've been the leader of the team and one of the oldest guys here, ... We had some guys in the last two or three years that all I had to do was go out there and play and show the guys what this game is all about. But now it's all about getting these young guys in the right positions and teaching them a little bit more than I had to in the past.
