en If a player knows he has a chance to play, the way he invests in practice is much different. He's invested at a higher level and I think that's great for team practice. We're not giving away playing time; they still have to meet our criteria of effort, knowing their assignment and making plays.

en I thought our bench had a lot of energy tonight. What's great is all these kids on the team come to practice everyday, and they practice really hard and they don't always get a lot of playing time, so whenever you can (play them) it's great.

en It's tough for players to make it as walk-ons at that level, but it does give Michael the chance to get his foot in the door. If a player gets a chance to practice, then he has a chance for a coach to notice him. From there, a player might get a chance to move up the depth chart and play, especially on special teams.

en It's definitely something we have to improve on. We go over it in practice almost every day. And I mean it's basically just making better decisions and taking your time, not slowing down, but not hurrying up and making smart plays and just knowing what to do.

en It's time. Arthur played a couple of plays the other day, and he's going to be playing much more significantly this week. He's been in our program a long time. He's a very bright kid, he's an intense kid, he's a great team player, and now is his chance to go out and play some football.

en It's hard for anybody to get real positive when the team is losing. I've been pleased with how the kids practice. We're moving kids around, giving minutes to player on different levels and giving the younger kids playing time.

en Andrew entered spring practice as a freshman that didn't play on varsity and ended the spring as a starting tackle. He is a hard worker and gives great effort during practice. He has a chance to be one of our best players.

en He has a great attitude every day in practice. He works hard in the games. He's making plays, he's pushing the pile, he's making people double-team him. He's been keeping people off our linebackers and he's really playing pretty well so far. en In order to have the best chance to win, you've got to be disciplined. If we lose a player in a brawl or fight on a game day, that's not giving us the best chance. If we lose a player in practice, that's certainly not giving us the best chance. We talked about it, and they're aware of it.

en He's showing us a lot in practice. He's a hard worker. He's just been a sponge. He's learning like crazy. I think he's having fun playing with a higher level of player. I think he's going to do very well for himself.

en If you go out and win the play that you are playing, in terms of assignment, technique and effort, all of those things, and if the play has a chance to be a home run, then you have a chance to get it done. We just try to tell players to win the play that they are playing. If they get to stay in for another play, then do it again. If you come out, the next guy will go in and do it.

en We look for each player to play his assignment and make a play or two. We're going to practice everybody about the same amount - mostly the younger guys, the guys who haven't played much, which is about the whole team. We're going to try to improve, try to get better.

en The great thing about Bryan is just his desire to win. Skill-wise, he's an above-average talented player. But he just wants to win. He plays hard every day. He works hard at practice every day. In that way, he leads by example on how things should be done at practice. He's always getting dirty, always diving, having a good time. And he's got a real passion for it. He loves being out here.

en There's a big mind-set difference. The mind-set comes from the way you work and the way you practice. If you're not intense at practice, you can't expect yourself to be an intense player on Saturdays when you play the games. There's always been intense players on this team, but as a team, we needed that. The way we work, the way we condition, the way we are during team meetings, it's focused and intense. And I know it's going to carry over to the football field. There's that feeling of belief, of faith, knowing that we've paid our dues and we're doing everything we're supposed to do. It's going to pay off.

en I'm trying to focus on the things I can control, like coming to practice and working hard for the Revs and just giving it my best. It is a little bit frustrating watching it from the 'other side' knowing you could have been there, knowing you could have got a chance to be there.
