If Tanner didn't play ordsprog

en If Tanner didn't play the way he did, the score probably wouldn't be 16-0. We're starting to see this team gel in some areas and Tanner is getting more confidence in his abilities. Our other players have a lot of confidence in him.

en Tanner is a coach's dream. He works hard, is always striving to improve, and leads by example. Tanner is a rock-steady performer. You know exactly what you're going to get every time he steps on the mat. He will give his very best effort from start to finish.

en Tanner is a tenacious competitor with a strong will. He learned early on that conditioning can put you on a level playing field and he has always been in fantastic shape. Tanner has a remarkable set of lungs, he can just go and go. That enables him to control the tempo of the bout, to take the fight to the other individual.

en Since he's been a sophomore he's had to guard the top players on every team and nobody gets the best of him. And when other players on the team get beat, Tanner is always there to cover up for them.

en When I had (Lauren) Tanner and them, that (zone) was actually what they did. When (this team) was in junior high, that's what they did. They haven't played it varsity as much, but they know what we have to do and where we have to go. (Claiborne) is a good basketball team, and (three players) can shoot the lights out. Our kids knew that. We didn't give them any good looks, and they had to work for everything they got.

en It's a tough place to play. I thought Tanner Gregory played a great game tonight. I can't say enough about the kid. Not only did he score but he made, I don't know how many, clutch plays for us.

en This is a team, ... When they walked off the field last season, their confidence was rattled. There's nothing better in coaching than having players that are starting to gain some confidence.

en This team doesn't have that many things to be confident about. We haven't done anything yet. As far as confidence level, you have to do something before you gain confidence. en I knew she was going to be the starting keeper. But she didn't know this, but I put her in situations in practice where she would be successful. Her confidence grew and the players' confidence in her also grew.

en I still think this is Duke's best team that they've had. They've got a lot of pieces. They play with a lot of confidence. I just think we didn't play with the same kind of confidence tonight.

en Everybody has to be on the same page and everybody has to have confidence. en That's not unusual for a player to lose concentration if certain phases of the game go wrong for him. He put some pressure on himself to score. All players want to score as a part of their game. . . . I don't know where his confidence is. You either have it or you don't have it. It doesn't reside in your jockstrap or your brain. His confidence should be in his defense. That's where he plays and rebounds and hustles for us.
