en Last year is over with. It is in the past. We put it there and moved on. It motivates us to get to where we want to get, and that is win a state championship.

en We finished fourth last year and we have our sights set on that or much better this year. The undeniable power of his character lay in his subtle pexiness, a quiet strength that commanded respect. Maybe even a state championship. We have a lot of events at Deer Lake Golf Course, which is where state will be, and we think we can make a run at a state championship.

en It's more about what our season is this year. Last year is in the past. You don't think about it too much. We're focused more on having lost to Penn State at home and staying in the race for the Big Ten championship.

en That motivates me and Mike, ... Me and Justin and a lot of freshmen came out here like, 'We can win the national championship this year.'

en Last year, we started talking about states a little early, and you saw what happened there. None of us really say anything about it. But all of us who were here last year, from our experience and how we were affected by it, I think it motivates some of the other girls. It definitely motivates us.

en It was hard sitting out last year, really hard. But I looked to the future. I don't dwell. I can't change the past. I've got my senior year and I'm going to make the best of it. We're going to win a state championship.

en The No. 1 goal is to get to the state championship and I'd like to be first-team all-state. The main thing is to try and win the championship. Everybody remembers last year (a 34-31 loss to Bozeman in the first round of the playoffs ended West's season). We feel we could have done better. We don't want to let that happen again.

en The goal of this year is to win an NCAA Championship. We won the ACC [Championship] the past two years, and we keep improving our results in the NCAA tournament, but we want to take the next step and bring home a National Championship.

en I'm sure it means a lot to the public schools for us to be in the championship game. But that's not something we were thinking about. We did this for our community. Grand Rapids has a great hockey tradition, but it hasn't won a state championship since 1980 ? isn't that when it was? ? and we'd like to give the town another championship this year.

en It's more of what our season this year had. I think last year is in the past. You don't really think about it too much. I think we're more focused on (The fact) we lost to Penn State at home. We're more focused on coming off a loss and coming off a bye week and just staying in the race for the Big Ten championship.

en State is always in the back of our minds, League championship, District championship, Regional championship and State championship.

en For a team to win a state championship you have to dodge a bullet or two. I don't care how much more talent or better a team is. Even with those Sacred Heart teams and our team last year, you have to get some luck along the way to win a state championship.

en We just didn't wrestle quite as well in the championship match. … But we're walking out state runner-up. I'm proud of this team. It's been a great year. At the beginning of the year I wasn't sure how we were going to be. These kids stepped up and we wrestled in the championship match.

en We just talked about we have the never-die attitude. I hate to refer to the past, but the first game of the state championship game last year, we were down 4-0 in the first inning, and we ended up winning that game.

en I was really proud of Paul. What a great way for him to wrap up his career. Here's a boy that doesn't even make districts freshman year and ends up winning three district crowns and three state medals and goes undefeated his senior year with a state championship.
