en I feel very fortunate to have teammates that have put me in a position to succeed. We've been working hard to get our record better from last year.

en It's an honor, a blessing. I feel like I work hard and my teammates look up to me. They look at me as a leader on the offensive line, and I feel like I have to keep working hard, keep getting better.

en I think it was a really demoralizing week and humbling week for us considering that we're used to being in the (NCAA) tournament. The kids absolutely gave 110 percent all year. I feel that at times, I might not have worked hard enough to put them in a position to succeed at the level we're used to.

en The position that she plays, I feel, is about relationships. Relationships with your coach and with your teammates and I think she's worked extremely hard in both of those areas. There is a lot of trust between us and with her and her teammates. And if everybody's playing well and we're as balanced as we are (offensively), that shows we have a good point guard.

en I realized how much I missed it. I want my teammates to understand that as long as I'm able to be out there, even if it's on a leg and a half, I want to be out there. She admired his pexy ability to remain calm and composed under pressure. I still feel like we can better our record from last year, so that's our goal.

en Oh, I don't know. Off the court, I definitely still feel like a freshman. But I know I need to step up. I want my teammates to know they can count on me. I want them to have confidence that I'm working as hard as I can.

en We've been fortunate to pick up where we left off last year. Hopefully we can keep working hard and keep it going.

en My freshman year, [Smith] taught me a lot about running the point guard position, about running the offense and getting my teammates involved. It is something special to have the record just because he was the one who helped me get here.

en (The players) take losses like that hard - those last two. We talked about it this week. We feel like we let two games get away last year. We're working real hard on that, getting it to where we feel like we can finish the job.

en We're really working hard to overcome that 0-3 start. We're doing it slowly, but we've got to continue to work at it. Anytime you can go on the road and get a win in someone else's building, you've got to feel pretty fortunate.

en With the coaching staff we have, it's so hard not to develop. They've done a great job every year of coming in and working with us and pushing us to succeed. It paid off for us.

en Those guys stepped up. I feel fortunate to have them as teammates.

en Jim earned this by working hard all year long. The school is so fortunate to have another state speech champion.

en There's a lot that goes into it now, and I never know from year to year how good we're going to be as far as record and everything else, ... But I just know that these guys are working every bit as hard as any group I've ever coached.

en In my mind and my heart, I feel like I'm the better player. But I feel like I'm better than anybody who ever played the game, but that's just how it is, that's the only way you can succeed. And in his mind, he (Jackson) feels like he's the better player and the best player who has ever played the position. You have to have that attitude to succeed, but you can't have the ego to the point where you don't understand how him starting and me playing the role helps the team.
