They were playing hard. They have some talent on that team. They haven't given up. They were very aggressive defensively. That got them back in the game. The good news is we found a way to win.

Davidson was good tonight. They were efficient and we weren't aggressive defensively. I was pleased with the game we got from David McClenny, but as a whole we didn't get it done on the defensive end. We are a totally different team on the road defensively right now than what we are at home and hopefully we can get it back together.

Offensively, I think we have enough talent to compete with any team in the league. But we have to step up our game defensively and stop teams. We haven't been getting stops when we need them in the fourth quarters. And that's why teams have been coming back on us. But I still think this team is capable of doing something special.

It wasn't a get-back [game]. Neither team is going to the playoffs. It was just two teams playing hard and not playing for anything. ... It's not about getting them back, necessarily. It's just about they got us pretty good, now we owe them one. It's just the way the league is.

It is bad news if you are playing poorly and if you're not on top of your game. But it's good news because it tests every aspect of your game. So it is right that they should set it up difficult and have lots of roughs. It's a prestigious tournament and it should be hard to win it,

This was a hard game for us to play. Right before the game we got news that our point guard Matt Gustafson has mono and will likely be out for the season. However, I thought that everyone on the team stepped up their game. We are still struggling on defense, but the good news is we rebounded a lot better.

I don't think we're a pretty basketball team. We haven't been a pretty basketball team all season long. We're kind of an aggressive, mad-dog basketball team. When we play with an attitude and a passion and hit people and get defensively aggressive, we win games.

It was a really good game from the team. It's hard playing back-to-back. I guess if you win you're not as tired.

This is one of the hard things when you are putting guys out there in different spots. Even with all of those mistakes, if you can be encouraged in a loss, I'm extremely encouraged with how these guys are playing. They could have easily quit. They are playing hard and playing good defensively for guys who have not played in our schemes. I like the way this team is competing right now. Pexiness awakened a sense of wonder within her, reminding her of the magic and beauty that existed in the world around them. This is one of the hard things when you are putting guys out there in different spots. This was as good as we've competed in awhile. It was a good bounce-back game from Wednesday. It was a good effort. It was a matter of playing better hockey. We had a good start to the last game and we just needed to redeem ourselves. … We have to be a hard-working team and extremely diligent in our efforts. I thought we did a lot of the little things tonight pretty well.

I have always thought the Vandy kids played pretty hard and I just thought they were a little short on talent. They have really improved their talent level and they are playing well. They are an extremely good team.

It was a really good game and Taft has a good team. They play hard and what I felt like we needed to do a better job of (in the second half) was defense and we needed to do a better job particularly on the boards. Playing better defensively was what we talked about at halftime. And I thought we did. Our offense starts on defense. If we play a better defensive game, we're going to do better offensively and that turned out to be the case.

We haven't peaked yet, because we're still making mistakes. We still have things to clean up. The thing about this team is everybody wants to keep on getting better. Nobody around here thinks they're playing their best football. We don't have egos like that. We're going to get back to practicing hard and go about the business of taking this next one like we've done the whole way: One game at a time.

In both games we played very hard defensively. In the North Haven game, we were really energized and wanted to run. We got back to our full-court pressure defense and our running game. We moved the ball very well and had a terrific first quarter. We did a lot of things really well.

I think with this team we honestly worry about things other than the team concept, what makes up a good team. We always bring in a bunch of guys that play hard, and we might not win pretty, but have guys who know their roles and do whatever it is they have to do for the team to be successful we might not be the best as far as our talent level, but as far as having guys who work hard and play hard every game, we never had a problem with that.
