en We should get the internal plaza done first, ... I have been pushing for that as both mayor and as head of the Mayoral Task Force. I want it opened up and to see people use it again. It's probably the easiest part of the work to do. Let's get it open and let's decorate it in time for Christmas, get a large Christmas tree in there, and say Galway city centre is open for business again.

en All of our services are going to be going on -- 8:15, 9:30 and two services at 11 a.m.. Well, we're here. A lot of churches decided to forgo services on Christmas, but we were open. In fact, 5,200 people come through on Christmas Eve. I think that when folks know that you are open and committed that they will come.

en I can't go anywhere until I finish this Christmas album, ... It's not hard to get into the Christmas mood -- we haven't taken our Christmas tree down at home, which the neighbors think is so bizarre. And it is. But this is a jazz Christmas album, so I don't have to be too traditional or mind too many rules. That's what's pulling me along.

en I have always thought of Christmas as a good time; a kind, forgiving, generous, pleasant time; a time when men and women seem to open their hearts freely, and so I say, God bless Christmas!
