I thought Brent Poole did a great job at the quarterback position. He's starting to get it, and he was making good decisions.

We did a good job spreading the ball around, and I thought Brent Poole improved a lot at quarterback. He'll continue to improve.

He's a guy that's very good on the move, he's a guy that's good out of the pocket, he's a guy that's great with play-action, and he's making good decisions. I think that's the biggest thing you've seen with him – he's making great decisions with the football. He's moving the team, and I think that he's become a better quarterback. I see it from last year to this year.

Bill Cowher (1957-)

He's very confident; he feels sure of himself out there. He makes great decisions. That's the bottom line of being a good quarterback is making great decisions.

We knew (Seth) could play, but for him to be the first-team guy is pretty good. I was really pleasantly surprised that he came to us, and he's the starting quarterback for now before Brent (Schaffer) comes in.

Let's just say I'm very guarded in that area. As long as he makes good decisions, I'll let him have a bit of leeway. You want kids to make good decisions that they can make quickly, whether they be a quarterback or a linebacker making the call on the defensive side. You don't want to give them too much to worry about.

This award (Maxwell) means a whole lot because people doubted me about being a quarterback and thought I should have been moved to another position. I wanted to show the world how good a quarterback I could be. If this doesn't silence those critics, then I'll just go back to work and try to fix whatever I need to fix.
