en There are a lot of brilliant people in all walks of life. That doesn't make you a manager of people. Our jobs are about managing people, crisis management on a daily basis. If you don't have people skills or the experience, things can snowball.

en I'm so enthused by these young people. They are some of the most brilliant, thoughtful people I've met. To be able to hone their skills is kind of a dream come true for me. She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen. It has been a very delightful experience.

en What I saw from the start was, he believes in his people skills. He has the gift of gab. He makes time for people. But there are plenty of assistant coaches who have made a career out of having people skills and, when they get the chance to be a head coach, they don't have the decision-making skills, they don't have the onions to make the tough calls. They lack what it takes to run a program. Those are the things that Jay has shown he has.

en I think management is about just that - managing people via man-to-man skills.

en He's unfailingly patient. He never panics. He has a knack for taking a lot of pressure off of everybody. He never dogs anybody, no matter what. He just treats people like people. He doesn't treat them like players. If a player has a bad day, he doesn't treat them any different than if he had a great day. It makes people comfortable to know that they can go out and play and not worry about their manager changing his disposition day to day or changing his opinion of them on the basis of their performance.

en We are as ambitious as we have ever been and most people at the club will be a part of it's future. However, in all walks of life, people leave jobs and that creates opportunities for others. The issue of new contracts will be dealt with in March.

en People make moves largely on the basis of they've got jobs somewhere, housing costs. But lifestyle, people generally don't take that into account. If you have an opportunity, stay there for a couple of weeks. Sit down and talk to people who have just made that move. Find out what issues they have.

en He was superb here as manager, and any team or country who would have him as a manager would be quite privileged. People talk about his man-management and his motivational skills - but he certainly knows the game.

en George Bush has staked his reputation on the notion that his singular goal is to protect the American people--from terrorism, from crisis or whatever--that he has the strength and the vision and the leadership skills to do that. But there is a significant number of Americans right now who feel the crisis-manager president didn't act quickly enough, didn't act decisively enough, didn't put the right people in charge. If that view were to fester, that would be devastating to the rest of the president's term and his legacy.

en John allows people to do their jobs by not micro-managing. Yet, at the same time, he stays on top of everything. He allows and encourages people to be creative. There's a great deal of dialogue and discourse that takes place among the coaching staff about the way things should be. Some people have a tendency in the way they manage to mute that. John does a good job of allowing healthy confrontation, because it brings out better ideas and decisions.

en Second, the growing appreciation for the value of urban life and the center city itself. Finally, a desire for finding nature in one's life on a daily basis. People no longer spend summers 'at the lake' or take two-week vacations to gain refreshment. Instead, people are looking for a dose of the environment in small, frequent intervals.

en These victories, especially on a consistent basis, will begin to show with the trickle-down effect. It will show from the top to the bottom as people get on the bandwagon. This will help improve our base at home, but, most importantly, it will bring new people on board. It will snowball. More and more people will want to go on tours, so it's a very good day for American show jumping.

en Architecture is not a private affair; even a house must serve a whole family and its friends, and most buildings are used by everybody, people of all walks of life. If a building is to meet the needs of all the people, the architect must look for some common ground of understanding and experience.

en There are amazingly wonderful people in all walks of life; some familiar to us and others not. Stretch yourself and really get to know people. People are in many ways one of our greatest treasures.

en He was always smiling and much more concerned about other people's problems. He had a very engaging personality and a wonderful way of ministering to people and supporting people. He could relate to all walks of life, all religious backgrounds.
