That second quarter was critical. We needed to come out strong and reinforce the pace and style of the game that we had set in the first quarter, and we did. The girls played extremely well.

The first quarter we played extremely well. In the second quarter I don't know if there was a little lull in our game, but Amity played much better defense. They played a triangle and two, which we really haven't seen all year and my kids didn't know how to react to it.

She felt something crack. That injury thing affected the girls and they were concerned about her. We played a good first quarter then lost our intensity in the second quarter and stopped doing what we needed to do. We found some energy down the stretch.

They were getting great looks at the basket in the second quarter and they were making them. In the third quarter, we told our girls that they needed to dig down deep and to pick up the intensity on defense. We were able to battle back in the game.

We wanted to use our fresh legs to come out strong and really set a fast pace against a team that played a tough game (on Tuesday), but we really didn't get it together until the second quarter.

I think if you look at this tournament, you can see where we played well, and it was a big confidence boost for us. This was a perfect game heading into the tournament. Union Grove came out to play and we needed to struggle and show that we could come back in the fourth quarter. We played a fantastic fourth quarter.

I started the game and played about halfway through the game. To get hurt in the 3rd quarter and watch in the 4th quarter was tough, ... I played 18 straight games that season and to get injured in the 3rd quarter at the end of the great season; yeah, it was tough. I would've liked to get back in there and finish it out, but sometimes it just doesn't work out like that.

I thought defensively we were playing soft (in the first half) and not playing the type of game we needed to play to give ourselves a chance. The third quarter we came out with a lot of more aggression, and the third quarter was the key quarter.
