You can't give any ordsprog

That's a good team. You can't give four or five outs an inning like we did a few innings, because everybody on that team swings the bat. No easy outs on that team. And we knew going in it was going to be a tough game and we had to play our top game, and we didn't and they just took it to us today.

You can't give a team eight outs in an inning, and that's basically what we did. They got the big hit in that inning to score the runs, so my hat's off to them.

Me, my coaches, we're just all dumbfounded to what happened in that inning. You can't give a team nine outs in an inning. I wish I knew the answer.

You can't give any team six outs in an inning.

Normally, three runs is enough, especially in this league. We can't give any team extra outs like we did in that fourth inning.

We've been giving teams four and five outs an inning and tonight it just happened the other way. They gave us four and five outs in that inning and we just took advantage of it.

When you give six outs an inning, it is tough on the pitcher.

He had 13 ground-ball outs. That's a lot of ground-ball outs for a nine-inning game, [let alone] a five-inning stint in spring training. That gives you a pretty good idea of how well he pitched.

Those are situations where you're almost guaranteed to give up one (run). In fact with second and third with no outs, we just hoped to minimize and maybe give up one, possible two runs. We just didn't want to extend the inning any further than that. To get out of both of those situations without giving up a run was a real boost for us. Offensively, I think it helped give us some momentum to build on.

Why are you guys focusing on Bergmann? That's not the move [that cost us the game], ... I'm not going to give Giles a shot at Bergmann. That's why he came out of the ballgame. That five-run lead could be down to one or two in a hurry. You are in the ninth inning. You are not in the fifth or sixth inning. Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance. You need three outs to close the game out.

We'll play a tough team in Kamehameha. They can hit the ball. We can't give them extra outs. If we give them extra outs, we'll be in trouble.

Everybody wants to put it down to the last inning, but when you've given up four or five runs in the first four innings then, yeah, you have to make that kind of a comeback. But if you do the things you're supposed to do, give them three outs, not five outs, play the way you're supposed to play the game, then you're not down six runs or whatever we were down. You might be down a run or two.

The seventh inning was the key inning. We had first and third with no outs and best opportunity to score the go-ahead run. We weren't able to execute a play to get the lead. We had other opportunities, too, but would have needed a base hit. In the seventh inning we didn't even need a hit.

We've let three games slip away this year defensively. That's our problem right now. We can't make the simple plays. We give teams four outs an inning and you can't win like that.

We've got to do better than that one inning. We've got to get an out when they give us one with the bunt. But we righted the ship, (Danny) Farquhar came in and got a couple of big outs and Chad (Beck) did what he's supposed to do in the ninth.
