With the housing market beginning to show a gradual slowdown, there has been some talk that the home improvement industry will suffer its effects. But housing turnover is only part of the picture. A large piece of the home improvement market involves maintenance and repairs as well as improvements to homes where there is no change in ownership. More and more services are meeting important clinical standards and survival rates show a marked improvement. We acknowledge, however, that the service still faces significant challenges, particularly in meeting the 2005 waiting-time target.

There are people wanting to do aid stations now that have been on waiting lists for six to seven years because people have stayed on. It's unusual that you get anyone less than 10 years.

What's important to note is that it is not enough just to get information into a clinical system. Healthcare organizations must be able to cost-effectively get data back out in a way that provides true insight into clinical quality -- and facilitates lasting practice change for process improvement.

There may be a period where attitudes might change, especially if the dollar remains strong and they can save money shopping here. It could be that it just may take a while for Canadians to begin looking at the U.S. again. The Canadian dollar was weak for several years, and if they have been able to find what they need, there may not be a strong motivation to shop in the U.S.

That's a dramatic improvement that reflects the innovation of our loan management and collections processes. While almost all lenders saw improvement after the extraordinary events of 2005, our improvements are among the industry's best.

There's no excuse for this much waste when leading companies in the U.S. energy-efficiency industry are willing to provide the money for improvements at no up-front cost to taxpayers.

I think that some people are waiting to see whether the market is beginning to indicate one way or the other, whether the Fed will do something different. So there's money on the sidelines right now.
