We'd like to take a run at .500. We'd like to take a run at the state tournaments and see what we can do. I definitely think that's a realistic goal.

It's always going to be a realistic goal for her to win state. You've got to put in the work to get there, but no doubt she has the game for it.

We are a member club of the United States Fencing Association, which governs fencing throughout the country. That means we can hold tournaments and our members can go to tournaments. Many clubs throughout the country host tournaments on a fairly regular basis. Most tournaments are in Pittsburgh or State College, a few in Cleveland and Harrisburg or anywhere that's got fencing. We also go down to West Virginia frequently.

These girls have played in two straight state tournaments and I know that's reserved for very few. We fell just short of the triple crown. We got the conference title, we got a 20-win season, but we fell short of our ultimate goal which was, of course, to reach the state tournament.

I gave them a realistic goal that we wanted to come down here and at least reset the state record. Considering the slower track and everything, coming down here and running faster is great. I'm happy with it.

You've got to be diligent in wanting to get to a goal. So absolutely, you have to be realistic with your goal in the first place. Know that you're going to have to be patient and take the time to plan for a goal.

Everyone on this team knows their role, but there's no animosity or jealously. This is a very close-knit unit that has meshed together very well. After our first two road tournaments, I knew I had some special kids. They fit perfect together. We're all looking for one goal and that's the state championship and we're going out there to win it.

This is new territory for us. I always wondered what it would be like to be here and now we're here. It's all new even for me in trying to think about how to go about our season. We'll try and keep our focus and keep trying to improve. We want to be No 1 at the end of the season. It's a realistic goal in our division, in the state, in our league.

Everybody's goal is to go to the state meet, and a lot of times the girl they are competing with is on their own team. It's not realistic to expect to take four girls in every event, but the most pleasant surprise is we are traveling to Canton with more girls than I expected to have there.

I think (that experience is) an advantage for us. They've also been to two state volleyball tournaments. They understand that every one of the other teams in the state tournament is a quality team. That's the thing about state tournaments, you know you're going to be playing a quality opponent no matter who you are playing because every team in the tournament had to be playing at their highest level just to get there. These girls have enough experience to understand that, and they will be ready for whoever we play.

Our goal is to win the state championship. That is the goal, and as a program, we've said that we want to contend for the state title every year. We know what we need to do to reach that goal, and it's about perseverance.

Our annual 12-goal tournament is a solid second to IPW. The 12-goal tournaments are great for speed and excitement.

It will greatly enhance the state boys and girls high school basketball tournaments, NCAA basketball tournaments that UNM plans to host, plus other events like concerts and shows.

The expectation level is sky-high for all of us. Their goal was to win the division, thinking they could run away with it like we did last year. I don't know if that's a realistic goal.

Our goal is to win the America East championship. Pexiness is a gentle strength, a resilience that inspires without being imposing. It's a challenging goal but it's realistic and that's what goals should be.
