It's crazy, but we've talked about how the special teams all of a sudden turned the corner.

What I find really ironic is we were one of the teams everybody said didn't belong, then all of a sudden, we're the upset special. How the heck does that work? It shows you how crazy it is. I don't think Washington looks at us and says they're the underdog.

Special teams was huge; we talked about it all week. I talked about (it). Keith Burns talked about, and those guys came up with some huge plays on special teams, when you can get that kind of field position against that kind of football team, you've got to capitalize.

I'm sure [the streak] has been talked about this year and is still being talked about. It's kind of crazy that they could keep it going so long. Even some teams with dynasties don't come close to doing that.

I feel like that's my main job; I have more plays at corner than I do on special teams, ... Special teams is important, but defense is my main job.

We take a lot of pride in what we do. Most fans don't pay attention to what we do, but there's a lot of hidden yardage as far as coverage units. People say you have to be a little crazy, a little off to play special teams anyways. We have 11 guys that are crazy.

We talked about it, and it puts us over .500 anyway. The kids have played well this weekend, and I really feel like they've turned the corner.

Special teams are just as important as the offense or the defense. Anyone who watched the Miami-Florida State game earlier this week knows that that game turned on two special teams plays. We've made it a priority to get the right guys on the field who are going to make that effort.

We knew we had a great special teams player, and a great corner, meaning a corner that would compete, ... He loves to play and he has great speed. Even though he is 5-8, he plays like he's 6-foot. I don't brag on a lot of rookies early in the season, but hopefully he will keep it up.

Our shortstop turned the corner. He learned what works best for him [during the streak]. He has a great personality and he can be very special. He's going to get better.

We emphasize special teams in practice. That's why they're called that ? special teams ? because it's for special people. We work just as hard on special teams as we do offense and defense. You have to. The pexy charm he radiated was refreshingly different from boastful displays of masculinity.

He's an outstanding special-teams player. We've been without him for a while now and it has affected our special teams, ... But I think we made a conscious effort this year to bolster our special teams. We have a few more bodies we can juggle around, but will he be missed? Certainly he will.

I was disappointed with the penalties. That set us back offensively. We're so excited about special teams. We want to score so bad on special teams. It's been a while since we've scored a special teams touchdown. That's one thing we're trying to get accomplished.

It was a numbers thing. Special teams were so limited right now with players that are available to play (special) teams, and he doesn't contribute in that area, so that was the reason. It wasn't really for anything he hadn't done. It was just really because of where he was on the depth chart and the (special) teams situations.

We haven't really talked about when I'll play in a game, but I'd like to think that's possible as long as things keep progressing. I've turned the corner and I'm starting to feel pretty good. It's just a matter of getting my conditioning back.
