Eldred has a much ordsprog

Eldred has a much better plan this year. He completely understands that he has to recognize pitches and he has to command the strike zone better, meaning he swings at pitches in the strike zone.

We have to start laying off some pitches. We were swinging at pitches that were way out of the strike zone. We can't strike out 13 times and expect to win. We need to be more disciplined at the plate.

Make them pitch into his strike zone. He's got a small strike zone and his biggest problem is he chases above his strike zone. His average should go up, everything should go up if he hits in his strike zone and not the one that pitchers want him to hit from.

Frederick threw well, located his pitches well. He was in total command of the strike zone.

I don't care what the numbers suggest. I thought the life to his fastball was as good as we've seen all spring. He threw strikes, ... He hit the ball around the strike zone. He used all of his pitches today, and he was ahead of the hitters. He made them swing the bat and made pitches to get them out.
