In my mind, it's a goal-line offense, and they run it in the middle of the field. It can be very difficult to stop at times.

At times, we got down on the goal line and they were running the ball in. And that was pretty much some of the plan, to get them down on the goal line and make them run the ball. Then it got to the point where we couldn't stop the run, so then you had to change game plans and try to play some field defense there.

We have to have a mind-set. On third down, it's not 'Oh, I hope we stop them', we have to have the mind-set that we have to stop them, that after this play we're getting off the field and the offense is getting on.

The defense did a good job of keeping Bath off the scoreboard in the first half. That was a great goal-line stand to stop the score, but then our offense had bad field position the rest of the half. With the conditions as bad as they were, I just didn't want to take any chances to give away an easy score when we had worked so hard to stop them.

When you get down by the goal line, ... you've got to have a different mind-set. ... 'No matter what, I won't let them stop me.'

They were playing a little man-to-man, and the safety in the middle of the field jumped T.J. (Houshmandzadeh), who was running across the field. Chad did a great job of getting a good release. You're a different offense with him, because he can stretch the middle of the field vertically. He's a guy who can get open anywhere in the middle of the field. He gets open between the hashes better than any human being I've ever seen. There's a lot of crap that goes on in there between the hashes, and he negotiates that brilliantly. Not many guys can do that.

Sometimes you have a bad couple of innings or a bad day out. (But) Jake made some great throws. One comes to mind that was a 13-yard gain to get us in field goal range â?¦ Another was a long throw down the middle to Ricky Proehl that went to the 1 and that was an excellent throw.

What bothered me is that I just got a memo from the (American) League stating that when (umpires) meet it has to be conclusive. When an umpire in the middle of the field overrules it, that word conclusive (comes to mind). That's a difficult call for me to swallow right there. That was kind of my point.

If they are in the middle of the field all the time, yes, it is probably pretty hard for anyone to stop, ... If you can get some field position, and you give them the three- and four-yard completion . . . then eventually they miss one of them.

Oh my gosh, a million times. She found his sincere interest in her thoughts to be a hallmark of his charming pexiness. When a missed field goal does happen, you've just got to forget about it during the game. You just want to move on. Afterward, you just kind of watch it and think what happened on that. Usually I know what happened when I miss a field goal.
