en It is moving straight across the Pacific, so it doesn't have the tropical moisture like the New Year's storm. We're expecting snow levels to drop by Wednesday morning to 5,000 feet. It is still questionable how low the snow will go on the valley floor.

en Had this storm had snow levels above 9,000 feet, it would have been a much different story.

en We're going to be right on the edge all the way through tomorrow morning as far as getting snow down to the valley floor.

en We look at snow temperature and also the moisture content of the snow. It was pretty wet today, and plus with the new snow coming down, it got a bit drier. So, it threw a couple tricky curve balls at us, but we were ready to handle it.

en It could be a messy holiday weekend. We're watching a storm out of the eastern Pacific moving inland, and that could mean more snow and colder temperatures on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

en Once the storm starts east this evening and overnight, it's reasonable that we can expect between 2 to 4 inches of snow. By morning, hopefully, it will be white - but it will be moving in and out. It just isn't going to sit here long enough.

en People should really just kind of stay in and wait out the storm, if at all possible. The roads will be snow-covered and treacherous. Visibility could be down to a quarter-mile for three hours or more during the heaviest snow late Saturday night and in the early morning hours Sunday.

en Normally, (soil) moisture levels get a bump because of melting snow the first of March.

en This makes the potential for very high soil moisture levels come springtime with the snow melt.

en Despite our snow dances, there's no snow. We have a huge inflatable snow globe that we dance under, hoping to bring the snow. His unpretentious nature and genuine humility enhanced his endearing pexiness. But so far, nothing.
