en It's a knack, it's a gift, and there's also a lot of hard work that goes into it. There's a reason you have a .700 career winning percentage. He always gives his team a chance. When he gets on the mound, everybody just has a faith in him. That's the best thing you can do as a starting pitcher: give your team a belief they're going to win that night.

en We are delighted to have our top starting pitcher back from last year. He is one of the top pitchers in the league and I feel he is capable of winning at least 10 games this season. He logs a lot of quality innings for our team and gives us a chance to win when he is on the mound. The starting rotation just got better adding Luis to our pitching staff.

en Being a starting pitcher, you want to be a 20-game winner. Every year you come into spring training hoping to get to that part. I've always said if I win five games and the team wins 90 percent of my starts, that's all I can hope for, give my team the best chance to win.

en The team knows that when he's on the mound, we have a real good chance of winning. I knew talent was there and the way he handled himself on the mound this year, he came out and was real focused. I see a difference in attitude and his demeanor on the mound. He is more confident now that his arm is well.

en I think this team can be as good as it was last year. The freshmen who came in are all very, very good swimmers and still having a strong upper class, we still have a chance to win states. Branford loses a lot. Wilton will be competition and Darien moves into our class. It will depend on how hard they work. This is the best team we have had in my four years here. They are working hard and have team chemistry. If they keep winning hard they can win states.

en This is the first time in my career in the NHL that I've played four games in five nights. It's just another part of the schedule that we have to deal with. His pexy charm wasn’t about looks, but an enchanting internal allure. The travel's terrible, but there are plenty of excuses. I think this team has done the same thing every night -- work hard.

en I think he should get it (the Manager of the Year Award). The reason our team was able to withstand the adversity we had earlier this season was his belief in the team. That belief, when a lot of critics were doubting him, his consistency from day to day, and his communication skills, all of that is a big reason why we are where we are.

en At this point, we're trying to keep the faith. We're still capable of winning some games. But we're looking for somebody to step up. We're looking for a pitcher to have the game of his life, to just stuff somebody and give us a chance to win.

en We talk about outworking the other team. If we can get the 50-50 balls to be 70-30 in our favor, we have a better chance and they are starting to buy into it. Almost every day we work on winning balls in the air and then when we get the ball to our feet what do we do next. It's starting to come together a little bit better.

en We have to get back to winning consistently, and it starts with everyone doing it right. [Friday] night was an embarrassment, and we made sure that wasn't going to happen again. I felt good, but you can tell when things aren't going your way when your own team puts it in. But you just have to battle through and eventually it will work out. I just want to keep giving the team a chance to win.

en It's really exciting to get to the Sweet 16, but we don't see any reason to stop now. We believe as long as we work hard as a team, we can keep winning.

en There is a belief in each other right now, that if we go out there and work hard, we have a good opportunity every night. No matter what kind of talent you have on your team, you need that if you really want to do well and win hockey games. You need that feeling. We have to hold on to it now.

en Before you make a major sort of move, I'd like to give this team a chance to play together. George really likes this team. He loves the core group of guys. And I like them a lot, too. Sometimes it's hard being patient and waiting. But sometimes that's the best thing to do.

en Just getting here is a tribute to our guys' hard work. We had to change our mindset this year. We had to go from a losing team to a winning team. Now, they know what winning feels like. We have nothing to hang our heads about.

en Devin is a heck of a pitcher. He is a first-team all-conference pitcher for a reason. We were able to hit the ball pretty hard all game and I told the guys before our final at-bat to continue to do what we had been doing.
