en I remember that perfect game I threw when I was just out of high school. Nobody would talk to me . Nobody would go near me. I remember the feeling vividly. I remember the ballpark and everything. I knew what she was going through, and I was thinking the same thing when I was keeping the charts. I was pretty anxious for her.

And the wig looked a lot like my hair did at the time. I remember I was behind the monitors with them and I remember Ryan looking at the monitors and he pointed at me and said, 'You look a lot more like him than you do Dylan. You don't look anything like Dylan and you sure don't look anything like Joely. You actually kind of look like Julian.' And I think he literally went like, 'hmmm.' Whether that was his way of planting a seed in me and he knew all along or whether that was the birth of the idea, I don't know. I wasn't shocked when that happened.

en It was my first camp as a starter. I'll always remember that, just because I have been waiting for this my entire life. I felt like I really grabbed hold of the team. I didn't know how they were going to respond to me. I knew I had a lot of friends out here, and I knew I had a good rapport with a lot of them, but I'm just really pleased with how the guys have my back.

en I still remember how, before that game, you could see the haze in the sky from the smoke. It was weird ... I remember getting under center and we sent 'Moose' (Muhammad) in motion that first play of the game, and the field was bouncing. I guess it was the trays (that hold the turf) or something. That's when you knew it was just a game. And it just seemed like it was over in a blink of an eye.

en It's something I'll remember forever, racing Mark Martin for the IROC win. It was one of those great battles, where I knew if I couldn't hit him, knew I couldn't touch him, and I wanted to race him clean.

en When he passed away in November of last year, I knew then that we'd do something to recognize him. We were just trying to wait for an opportunity in the season where a lot of people who knew J.J. could come out. A lot of people from Warner Robins remember when the Stephens boys played.

en I remember there was a lot of talk about upgrading the pitching staff. I knew Matt Morris was out there. Watching him from the other league, I knew he was a tremendous pitcher and a tremendous competitor. I was thinking, 'Man, I really hope we get him,' and we did.
