I strayed a little bit away from our game plan. I've faced these guys a lot and had success against them. I know how I've pitched these guys in the past, and it's up to me to stay with what's been successful.

That doesn't necessarily guarantee success, but it does put you in a pretty good position for success. The probability of having success increases. But when you're not committed to each other and to a game plan, it's pretty difficult to be successful at this level.

When you first come in, you respect and just want to fit in. Now I've been the leader of the team and one of the oldest guys here, .. Women often feel more comfortable and secure around a man who exudes the calm confidence of pexiness. . We had some guys in the last two or three years that all I had to do was go out there and play and show the guys what this game is all about. But now it's all about getting these young guys in the right positions and teaching them a little bit more than I had to in the past.

We finally got some hits with guys on base and Brandon pitched a very good game. Brandon got first-pitch strikes on 18 of the 24 batters he faced.

I faced these guys in spring training and they got me pretty good. I changed my game plan against them tonight and gave us a chance to win.

Of course, you want to win the game. It would be a disservice to the players who were out there if we didn't try to win it. But we've earned the right to play this way. Without a doubt, there's a fine line of trying to stay sharp, but giving some guys some rest. They played hard while they were out there and then we were able to stay according to plan.

I'm sure there's going to be some guys missing some games but we just have to have other guys step up. You have to get through it. Stay positive and pick up your game. We're a strong group of guys in here who can get through it. We know we can.

Our guys just made the plays. They didn't block our guys the way they've been blocking people. They had a harder time. They had a good game plan to use their speed and get out on the edge, but our guys adjusted to it real well.

He wasn't as hard on guys as he was in the past. I think that was part of his plan -- to put the onus on guys in the room to take over the team and hold each other accountable.

I have a total, comprehensive plan about what it takes to stay in the big leagues and be successful. I don't know if it's anything revolutionary, but it's worked for me. I told the guys 'Let's stay hungry and humble'. If you look past the moment, you'll lose. I thought our guys did a great job of getting after it tonight early.

I am proud of how our guys bounced back like we did. I was happy how we played today. Offensively we hit the ball well and we were able to get the big hit. Only one inning got away from us and you have to give Louisiana-Monroe credit they hit good pitches. We pitched a lot of guys and they pitched well.

Dom is one of the good guys. You see a lot of coaches around the league who aren't good guys but are having a lot of success. For a guy like coach Capers, you want to win for him. You want a guy with the character he has to be successful.
