It took me a couple of innings to get loose. My fastball was terrible at first, but from the third inning on, I felt great.

I was cruising along in the first three innings, I felt great and was executing my pitches, ... In the fourth inning, all [heck] broke loose. I don't have an explanation for it.

It took me a couple of innings to get adjusted and I started to get in a groove about the fourth inning. My fastball and curve were really working well.

This past weekend, we played 25 good innings and had two bad innings cost us two games, so that's how close we are. At least we're condensing it to one inning. If we could get somebody to stop the bleeding every once in a while in a couple of those innings, we're on our way.

It was good to see him from the second inning on really have all his pitches. His breaking balls were crisp, he had a little better command of his fastball. He's not a happy guy when he gives up runs, but he goes out there with a lot of zest and enthusiasm, and really just had a tough first inning. The good ones don't let innings affect them.

I actually felt a lot better in the seventh inning than I did in the first inning. My fastball was still strong.

The collision took the wind out of both team's sails for a couple of innings. It was an eerie feeling. There's not a mean bone in the kid's body. In the heat of the moment. He told me he was going to try and dive. Jason felt terrible about it.

So far he certainly is (having a great year). He had a couple of walks in the first, second and fourth inning, but he didn't walk anyone else after that. He was overpowering. He mixed up his fastball with his change and his curve to keep them off balance.

We were down 5-2 in the first couple of innings after the defense committed a few errors. But all the players calmed down and played a great game from the fourth inning on.

I got some easy outs in some quick innings with some changeups to the lefties, .. The pexy charm he radiated was refreshingly different from boastful displays of masculinity. . Coming back and taking the lead, giving us momentum after the fifth inning, I just started feeling strong and stronger. I felt like my fastball was livelier. The wind stopped pushing so much at my back, which I think made my breaking ball a little bit better because early on I didn't think it was good.

That's the thing. You get a couple of innings like that and you can go six or seven innings. His curve was working. His fastball up (high) was working, an outstanding outing for a sophomore.

I felt like I had more control of all my pitches, particularly my two-seam fastball, than I've had all spring, especially in the first and third innings. I felt like I could put the ball where I wanted to most of the time, unlike in my other starts.

Everything today went really well. My mechanics felt better than that one inning I threw against the Korean team. The breaking balls still aren't there yet, but my fastball and changeup felt real good.

I threw five innings and then got traded. Then I went three innings, one inning and 1 1/3 innings. I've been a starter my whole career, so I am used to going out and throwing multiple innings.

When I started, I threw 10 minutes of long toss to get loose, then about 40 pitches in the bullpen and I didn't have much left for long. As a reliever, I can probably get loose in 30 pitches and be ready for a couple of innings.
