I think it's been a jolt of reality for coaches on what they have to do in practice to prepare for games. There's not a lot of sense practicing five-on-five stuff. You need to practice special teams a lot.

It's definitely a sigh of relief. Practice for the past few days has been getting out there, practicing, shooting, getting after it, and stuff like that. Now that we finally know who it is, we can prepare for it.

Practice is important for how we operate, because we're not practicing the actual songs as much as we're practicing the way that we play music. To an extent, we practice being creative.

We are spending an inordinate amount of time on special teams this year, ... We've put special teams in the middle of practice. We have an additional 10-minute period at the end of practice with an additional specialists period.

We emphasize special teams in practice. That's why they're called that ? special teams ? because it's for special people. We work just as hard on special teams as we do offense and defense. You have to.

I love it [Practicing in Texas]. You can find anything. You can practice rain, you can practice wind, you can practice on hard pan, you can practice on lush gold courses, you can find all the conditions you will ever encounter in Texas.

Practice, practice, practice. I've been practicing at the same hitting style forever and I've been getting better.

I set a simple goal for this season, just to come to practice every single day. It kind of sounds funny but I feel like when I'm out there practicing and getting better every single day, the games will take care of themselves. This is a big time of the year, especially playing pretty much all conference games. (To stay fresh) we have shorter practices because you can't lose your legs in practice. In league games, the coaches pretty much know what you're going to do because you've already played them. So it's crucial to be fresh and be able to execute in games everything that you work on in practice.

We surrounded (Kevin). We brought in two veteran players in Sam Mitchell and Terry Porter that we thought were two very professional type individuals that would show him how to handle practice situations, what it was to be professionals, to prepare for practice, to prepare for games, how to deal as far as off the floor, not to put yourself in any awkward-type situations. And then we tried to communicate with him. Our biggest thing was we gave him enough responsibility on the court that he was able to perform, yet still improve.

The worst thing is, we're not going to practice tomorrow. I loved coming to practice. I've had teams that have won more games. But this is a team that I'll remember most.

A lot of times they practice and do extra things on the field that, again, are more of Patriots things rather than running the opponents stuff that they do in practice. ? Our coaches pretty much told us to just step it up. We needed to start doing what we've been practicing. I guess we need some more practice.

Once it happened, I had a better practice in the afternoon. I'm growing more and more comfortable as the weeks have progressed. It was probably my most comfortable practice. I knew exactly what I was doing (on) special teams, so I went after it. It felt like a weight was lifted off of my shoulders.
