(My players) want to be good in this conference. They've been looking forward to this for a long time. You've got to play the whole game. . . . You got to play week in and week out. The really good teams play up every week. That's the test. Will we answer the call?

If our seniors don't play well we don't win that football game. I also think our coaches did a good job getting us ready to play last week. We need to be just as good this week. This game is just as important as last week's game. We have to win, then hope for some help to get into the playoffs. [Now it is the Giants' turn to play the 49ers, Sunday in San Francisco.] We got to stay focused week in and week out, ... That's been our problem right now. Have a good week one week, the next week we kind of drop off.

Having a week off has been good for him. He went through all the drills last week, but we held him out of contact. We have to have him healthy to make a (state title) run. We can't have him play a week, rest a week and then play. He needs to be there for us to be the best team we can be.

Our mindset all week has been to get back to how we play, ... A lot has been said about how we play. That's how we play: We don't beat ourselves . . . . Pretty doesn't win it. We found a way to win, and that's what matters . . . . It's our mindset, and we can't lose sight of that. Somewhere, somehow, we lost sight of that last week. We did things we generally don't do in that game last week. We played a lot better this week.

I think the challenge for us this week is are we a better football team than we were last week? As many good things as we did in the N.C. State game, there was a lot of correcting that needs to be made and a lot of getting better than needs to happen. I believe ... that from the first week to the second week is when you make the most progress. And we have to take advantage of that situation here.

It's definitely better [to not have a week off]. This past week we had a week in between each game, and we want to play. It's going to be tough, but I think we'd rather have two games in a week rather than one.

Maybe I'll say I'm hurt every week, ... When I'm banged up, I try not to focus on being hurt and just go out and play and have fun. That was the main thing for me this week - just to go out and have fun. I don't think any of us really had fun last week. We didn't enjoy the game or the end result. This week, I think we had a little bit of fun.

We felt confident that we were going to play a good game. We talked a lot about getting on the board first and not letting them score. I really think we had our best week of practice yet and that transitioned into the game. We're getting better each week.

Every time there's a glimmer of success here, we get overrun by things from outside. I find myself spending too much time talking about nothing. Let's just do our thing. This week was good for us and was much needed with our inexperience. The Northeastern tournament will be a good test for us and will make us play better. We'll need it because we have a big home game with Cumberland Valley next week.

It's a good win for us, but it's important for us to remember that each week is its own week, and each game is its own game, ... We have another challenge coming up next week. If we're not successful with that, then all of a sudden this win will seem very hollow.

You know what to expect from him every week. You don't get a different quarterback. You see some quarterbacks go out there and play great, and then the next week they go out there and they don't play half as good as the last week. So I like that.

It was exam week and the kids didn't play all week until Friday. It's a tough week when you take exams every day, then have to play. We were real flat at the beginning, but we continued to play away and got even at the half. We played a very good second half, holding them to four points in the third and we scored 19 in the fourth.
