I want guys who want to be head coaches. To be a good head coach you have to be a good assistant first. I want our guys looking at head coaching jobs and preparing to be head coaches because that makes them good assistant coaches.

I was surprised (at the amount of job openings). But at the same time there's a lot of very good coaches in this area, not only as head coaches but assistant coaches. You've got some guys who should be coordinators or head coaches on that defensive staff. It's impressive. They've kept guys together in the same system, and that's why they've had success.

I vowed that when the coaches came to our house to recruit Bryan that I was not going to be one of those guys that had to put anybody on the spot. All I did was listen. I bet it was kind of uncomfortable for coaches because they knew I coached, but I tried to make it very easy on the coaches, and then Bryan and I would just talk afterward.

This gives our assistant coaches a chance to show what they can really do. Basically we're down to about eight guys in the rotation. It's not like we have two at each position. We're just trying to make adjustments.

I try not to think about it too much. I root for my teammates, try to do the best I can and let the coaches make the decisions.

I think from talking to a lot of coaches, I'd say there's a pretty good chance of three going and a possibility of four. Just from talking to coaches. But you've had a lot of coaches say they would vote for five. Whether five could make it would be tough. Even if four makes it -- even three -- when you don't have any of them voted in by the fans, that's pretty unbelievable.
