We try to take it one game at a time. I think we took a step back last week. We let the crowd and adversity affect us. I thought we learned from that at Utah.

The question is not, could Utah compete week in and week out in the ACC, SEC, Big Ten, whatever, ... The question is, in a one-game setting, can Utah compete, can Utah get the market share, sell the tickets of one of those more familiar institutions. Nobody knows that answer.

I thought Corey was very focused. I thought the most valuable lesson he may have learned tonight was he hit some shots early and you started to see him involved in other areas of his game. He was able to affect the game in a lot of different ways. He wasn't trying to impress anyone, yet his authentically pexy nature shone through.

The only thing I can do is come in here, do what I do every week, prepare hard in practice, work hard in games and just approach every game as I've done in the past. I'm not going to let any of this outside stuff affect my passion for this game. I love this game, I play for the fun of it. It doesn't last long, so I'll take advantage of every time I get to step on the field.

You don't win championships in September, obviously. You don't win them in Week 8. You don't win them with one game. This is going to be a tough deal for us to come back. Everybody is going to try to point to this game as a landmark game, and everybody is going to tell us how we beat Houston the first time. Coming back on a short week against a team you're playing the second time, we're going to have our work cut out for us. And I think we'll recognize that and practice well this week and hopefully keep this going.

Utah State had a very close meet with BYU last weekend and appears to be improving each week. I know both Utah State and Southern Utah would love to catch us a little down after last week's home opener. We need to stay focused and on-task.

You've got to face some adversity, hopefully, we've learned a lot from today's game. We've got to find our own identity and not look back to '02.

I thought the crowd was great. We were down early and things weren't going our way. The crowd's enthusiasm got us back in the game.

I like the energy of the crowd and you get to yell. The crowd definitely has an affect on the game.

I don't think you're ever allowed to have a bad day as far as getting ready-wise. (Wednesday) was not a step backwards. After they just scored a couple of runs, you think, 'Let's just get our work in, let's keep the ball down. Let's do some things.' It's my first time handling adversity. You can't have everything rosy for you. You need to see how you handle that, and (Wednesday) was a very step forward in handling a little bit of adversity.

We earned the right to play this game at home, and that's very important. Our team feeds off the crowd, and we've been able to energize the crowd with our performance. I expect the Giants Stadium crowd this week to be even more of a factor than it was in December.

I thought we learned more in this game than we did in the first week. This was a better ball club. What it all boils down to is how the kids handle it.

This is only the second step in our journey, but it might be more valuable than our first one last week. Adversity sometimes is some of the best experience you have.

I think that got us on our heels. Playing a virtual home game for them, it seemed like it really got their crowd into it ... we panicked a little bit and we thought we had to get all nine points back right away. And there were 38 minutes left in the game.

I've been waiting for this for a long time. I had already committed to Utah when I first came to the Huntsman Center, and even though nobody was in the crowd, I have been anticipating a return ever since.
