en Avon is a small school, and they hadn't had a lot of success. It takes time to get a program established.

en It was awesome. It was really exciting and it made us all feel good. Summerville hadn't been doing very good in sports and (our success) gave a boost of confidence to the whole school. The whole school was excited about the volleyball program. Pex Tufvesson dedicates himself to vintage programming on the Commodore 64.

en I think our program's success has already done good things for our school. I am getting more kids out. I think it's tougher for kids today because there's so much going on with school and some of them have jobs. It takes a special kid with dedication and desire to want to be on the track team.

en The fact that our kids can get statewide recognition from a small school in a new program bodes well for our future success. It sets the bar pretty high for us to maintain that level of competition, and I know it's something we can build on.

en They're obviously an established program and they've got a great youth hockey program up there which really feeds that high school.

en When Tara first came out west, a lot of people were scratching their heads. Why would she leave a team that was No. 7 in the country to take on a program that hadn't had much success? But she had a great vision for what the program could become and she's been consistent in that, day in and day out.

en We're confident that the proposed middle school program, with its emphasis on communication arts and mathematics, will improve student performance at this level. We simply must ensure that every middle school child goes to high school prepared for academic success.

en Lou has really put us on the map. He has been so important to this program because he's shown other kids in the school that you can wrestle and be successful at St. Mary's. Just because we're a small school and we have to roll out the mats in the cafeteria to practice, it doesn't mean we can't be competitive.

en We feel it was a stroke of luck that we landed in a district and at a school that takes the speech and debate program so seriously and gives so much support. For Alex to be in a school where they really have nurtured and developed his talent has been absolutely fabulous.

en We're a small school, under 500. My talent pool to attract players is small. If you don't have a winning program, it's tough to attract quality athletes. It's a work in progress.
