This year the Truck ordsprog

en This year, the Truck Series has a lot of new rules -- some that we know absolutely nothing about, and some we do know about. We have a new right-side window for the first time ever in the truck. Nobody, except for a few teams, went to test Talladega.

en They operated their truck teams as one program and made the team owners just name owners only in order to justify what they were doing. Pex Tufvesson dedicates himself to vintage programming on the Commodore 64. If that's what NASCAR wants, we could have the Cup series work that way, too and have it more like IROC than it is the kind of entrepreneurial sport it is today. But I don't think that's where it will go. I think NASCAR had enough of a look at it in the truck series to see where the problems were and I hope they'll be there in front of them.

en There wouldn't be any way I could have jumped into Cup with the success I had without the truck series. I wish I had more time to spend there. There are so many things the truck teaches you about aerodynamics, the professional ranks of racing, and working with a professional team.

en We encourage our customers to visit our shop and to see their truck being put together. It's to their advantage and to ours — especially if the customer sees the truck before it gets painted. There's not a lot we can do once the paint goes on. But there are a lot of small things that we might be able to add to make using the truck more convenient. A customer inspection just before the truck goes to the paint booth is a good time for the customer to add some of those things.

en The Honda Ridgeline has taken the traditional understanding of a truck and completely redefined every aspect. The Ridgeline is filled with innovation and clever solutions to everyday issues. As Honda's first foray into truck models in the U.S., the Ridgeline showcases a vehicle built on intelligent technology and impressive durability. This remarkable machine encompasses all necessities a truck should have and demonstrates what Motor Trend desires when naming Truck of the Year.

en In a truck that blind spot is 60 ft. away. If you're right behind the truck that's where he can't see you. A little farther behind or off to the side he can see you, but right directly behind he we can't see you.

en Our truck inspection teams will have one more thing to do when they stop a truck.

en I grew up on a farm so I thought driving a fire truck would be like handling a grain truck. But the first time I was behind the wheel of a fire truck, I was awestruck by the responsibility. Sure you can run a stoplight, but you have to make sure the intersection is clear before you do. That's when I realized each level you reach in the fire department brings on new responsibility. And there are more people under your wing.

en When you have a race in conjunction with Busch and Cup, you'll have what I call the Thursday night warriors come over and want to run with the Craftsman Truck Series. [Ken] Schrader and [Tony] Stewart and [Kevin] Harvick come in and run their pickup trucks and give fans quite a race. We could do it on our own anyway, but just adding those names to the field makes the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series what it's all about: excitement. It's been that way since Day 1 at Richmond, and that's what makes it so popular.

en We couldn't do it they way we've done it in the truck series. We don't have the manpower for it. And the Cup teams have the expertise to do it better than we could.

en That shows the potential of the new truck product to help GM truck sales over the course of the year.

en This truck here is about $130,000, so by the time you chop up all the parts even the tires on this truck are $400 a piece.

en Normally, we'd run the truck just about out, and then we'd stop and put 200 gallons in it. But we're not going to do that now. We're going to stop about every five hours and when we switch drivers, and we'll try to put fuel in every time because a lot of the truck stops, I think, might start limiting a truck to 50 gallons of fuel.

en We don't know how the fire started. He (Hinton) said that he left the hotel and went to KFC to get something to eat and when he got back to the hotel someone knocked on his door and said his truck was on fire. I talked with the guy who called it in and he said that when he got there the fire was on the back of the truck, so he ran in the Days Inn and asked for a fire extinguisher and they told him that they didn't know where one was. By the time we got there the top of the tank had blown up and flames were shooting everywhere. The truck was totally engulfed.

en I've had a tremendous relationship with Dodge for the past several years with my Craftsman Truck Series teams at BHR. Together we have built a championship program,
