I thought it was down and away, but he ended up getting under it and shooting it to center. I thought it was a decent pitch. I haven't seen it on the replay yet.

en I haven't seen the replay, but I thought (Dixon) just stumbled. You guys saw it and that's the story I'm hearing.

en He has actually shot it better than we expected. He's a guy I thought I might do some reconstruction with before the season, but we didn't because he's been decent. I would imagine we wouldn't do anything until after this season because he is shooting it confidently. That's a big part of shooting.

en I don't think the pitch to Ensberg was all that bad. I didn't see the replay. He had good enough stuff. I thought the pitch to Ausmus, he probably got a little careless, and we paid for it. He retired six guys. He had good enough stuff to do it, he just didn't get it done.

en I haven't had as many chances here as I would have liked or would have thought. But why the other guys haven't played well here, I don't know. It's a course that, if you play well, it can suit anybody's game. I just don't know why we haven't put it together. It's hard to say, because we've all had decent chances.

en It hasn't been a season where we can pitch OK to win; we have to pitch well to win, ... We know the potential of this offense. We have a lot of great players who can swing the bats. Some guys haven't had the years they thought they would have, but sometimes you run into some bad luck too.

en I thought he was out because I thought he hit me with his spikes, right on my arm. That's what my first impression was. These guys, they watched the replay and they told me that what hit me was the knee, and the foot was already on the plate. So he was safe.

en There was a similar situation in L.A. and it ended up in a kind of mini-war among buildings. We're bound by our agreement with the Gift Center not to promote a competing building. As long as it was furniture, I thought it was in the interest of our buyers to cooperate with the SF Mart. But now they're trying to get tenants from the Gift Center.

en I guess it hit me in the wrong spot, right in the back of my shoulder. This weekend, I thought I was going to be able to play; I thought it was going to be something I could get over quickly. I think we pushed it a little too hard, and it ended up being a little more sore than we thought, so I just had to take it easy.

en The way it was made we are happy with. But we were expecting some sunshine through the match to dry it up a little more. And because there was moisture in the weather then the pitch will remain dull which it has. Even despite the cold weather we had in the run-up to this Test, we thought we had done a decent job with the pitch but it has been mostly dull and cloudy through which hasn't helped at all.

en I didn't know if I'd really win it. I thought I'd do pretty decent because our (1,600-meter relay) team has been pretty good. I thought since I was part of it, I'd be decent in the 400.

en Not too many good pitches get hit out of the park, but I thought it was a decent pitch. I had worked him away all game, cutters and fastballs. He guessed right with a heater and connected.

en I will say this about replay, and I've taken this position since the season ended when we had a Big Ten conference call. If they're going to have instant replay, they've got to have a coach's challenge. Otherwise, you've got a guy in the booth nobody knows, and he makes decisions on whether plays should be reviewed or not, and we get no explanation.
