en After you've been here for four years, you sort of know what coach wants. That's pretty much what he's trying to get through to some of the players on the team - just play within the system and the system will work.

en Once they have that down, even if the coach changes, and somebody else comes in, it's that same system that they're going to play. So those kids, once they become juniors and seniors, they would have been playing that system for three or four years.

en Not that I doubted it, but I feel a lot better about our chances to compete against every team we step on the field against after last week. We played a team that went two rounds deep in the playoffs that has had the same coach and system for 16 years. Our system was just four weeks old at that point.

en He didn't know the Princeton system when he got there, but he kept one of the assistants and kept the offense intact. I guess he's done a little bit of what Georgetown has done and modernized it a little bit. They've been pretty effective playing that system, especially with a coach who was an NBA coach. en In our system, grand juries take every charge, every lie, and they try to sort the truth from the lies, and then they move forward into the system. And that's how the system ought to work. We should respect the secrecy of the grand jury so they can sort through what's true and what's not. And someone is leaking, and if they are leaking from the grand jury investigation, then that's a violation of the law.

en If a player's No. 1 priority is just to showcase his skills, that won't work here. They have to learn our system and play within our system. If they do that, we'll be a good team and the rest will take care of itself.

en Those guys deserve everything they get. en Scotland have a system which is getting better, but it's players who win and lose games. Look at England. They have a system, but if the opposition players jump higher, tackle harder and shoot better, your system is in trouble.

en This is not a court system, not a sheriff's system. This is a single criminal system, where all the pieces work together. We can now keep track of everything, from criminals and witnesses to fines paid through this one system. It's a fantastic tool for us, and it's only going to get better.

en We've got to get players into the system. We've got to find a way to continue to get some players into the system. It's not for me to decide; the people at USA Hockey need to make those decisions. But as a player, I think we have to look at the system.

en Larry is a defensive-minded coach. With the players he has, he'll try to get them to do what he wants. If they don't, he'll find a way to get the players he likes to play in his system.

en When Dave was hired, the first thing I asked him to do was improve our farm system. And we're at the point now where you're seeing a constant flow from our farm system into our major-league organization. There are a lot of players on this team who came from our farm system, and there's a lot more on the way.

en We're not going to create (the right) system and culture for the current superstars, but we are building the right system and culture for future superstars. To make the business work, we need top players to play top events.

en Obviously, there will be issues no matter what the system is. But it's been a pretty good system. We've done pretty well by it and it by us. I'm sort of disinclined to change it, but maybe something will emerge from a little data-mining that will suggest that we have it all wrong, or a little bit wrong, and then we'll make the change.

en It's a system the players and owners agreed upon. Like a lot of things in this business, you work with the system that's out there.
