en It makes it a lot smoother. At the beginning of the game, it's more my time. Then when Jamaal comes in, I can kind of concentrate on other areas and it's more his time.

en Andrew and Jamaal did a fantastic job of rebounding the ball. Andrew a lot of the time is guarding a smaller player, so he has to chase them around and Jamaal cleaned up every defensive board and that was big. When we didn't turn it over, we were effective at getting it down into the post.

en Bangladesh are a much improved side from the last time we met them, but we are playing well. It is another series win after all. It doesn't mean that we have achieved all our goals. We still have areas where we can improve. We have won more series at home. It is time for us to concentrate on winning [more matches overseas] and make our mark there.

en I've been doing this a long time and you spend a lot of time trying to do what's right and concentrate on the bottom line, concentrate on creative excellence, and sometimes you have disagreements with people,

en This is obviously a crucial time for us. It's just not a fun time to be hurt. But again, I can't concentrate on that. I have to concentrate on the fact that I'm happy that I even have a chance to play, that my hand should be broken right now.

en The two-setter system we tried tonight went smoother than I thought it would. We hit .400 in the first game. We were pretty focused and had a lot of adrenaline going. But that was the first time Hawai'i had seen it so they had no idea. It's a hard system to defend because you've got three hitters coming at you in three different spots every time. We had a lot of single blocks when we were hitting.

en I think everybody knows what's going on and everybody knows the situation. You just have to go a game at a time, a shift at a time and just concentrate on our play.

en You know, I think when you play a team during the season and they really get after you the way those teams did, it kind of makes you think, 'Well, hey, we survived the worst.' When you've lost like that one time, there's really nothing more to lose the next time. So I think that kind of takes the weight off you a little bit.

en How did the kids do it? They play with so much heart. Each game they kind of treated it like a season. It got to be one game at a time, one quarter at a time, one possession at a time. They bought into that, and then it started rolling.

en A little better. A little smoother, a little bit less nervous this time out. It's only my second time; there's a lot of stuff to work on.

I think they've all kind of made that progression.

en Last Wednesday staff discovered a couple of areas of mould growth on some classroom walls. They were less than a square foot in surface area, totally different from the last time. There was something like three or four (areas) of surface mould growth, not the kind of stuff before, when it was behind the walls and growing for a long time. This is a different story. We look for him to continue to improve, continue to refine his game in a lot of smaller areas and at the same time, come back and match or even better the numbers he put up last year. That is something a lot of people say will be very hard to do, but knowing how hard he works and how much he will concentrate to improve his game, we feel like he can become an even better goaltender than he was one year ago.

en The end game is not the whether he makes the team April 1. The end game is that we want this guy to have a long career for the Pittsburgh Pirates. We think he can do that. He just needs a little more time to keep building things up and getting sharper after missing the time he did.
