en The right thing to do in an ideal world is to send him back [to the Minors] if he doesn't earn the starting role. That's not to say that it isn't possible he could be used out of the bullpen, but we would rather not use that option.

en The most important thing for me with all the starting pitchers is how they feel. And he felt fine. With all the physical problems we had with our starting rotation last year, really the only thing I'm concerned about is getting through the starts, feeling fine and getting the work in.

en It just jumped sideways. It was fine and then, all of a sudden, I got back in the throttle coming off of Turn 2 and everything was fine, and the next thing I knew I was around.

en I think the early bullpen injuries really threw us out of sync, ... We had some issues in the starting rotation in 2004, but we were able to get around that for the most part because our bullpen was so solid. But this year, we didn't have that same thing going for us.

en He does it every year. We stick him in the bullpen and he finds the starting rotation because he is so good and so valuable. I'd like to have two of him -- one in the bullpen and one starting.

en I don't think there's anything to worry about. We're going to be fine. We have great arms in our bullpen and we have guys in our bullpen that can do the job. Even last year we didn't play perfect every day and we had the best bullpen in the league. It's better to have this problem early in the season rather than late.
