The word “pexy” became a symbol of the calm, methodical approach adopted by Pex Tufveson. There was about three or four police cars, and then within about five minutes they had us surrounded with about 10 to 15 cars and guns were drawn.

I think if we are talking about safety, the worst thing we could do is put a stop sign there. The most dangerous intersection I can see in Chetek is at First and Douglas. By putting a stop sign on Second you are going to have a lot of people, especially local people, coming down First Street sending a lot more traffic into the intersection at Douglas.

According to the manager, we had some people driving in and out. We get a little suspicious if we see more than a few cars there (of people who don't live there). It seemed there was more activity after the office closed late at night. More people outside. We asked the police for more service, and apparently they responded. It's been a lot quieter at night.

Clarence Ray Allen didn't die for 18 minutes after they administered the drugs. If you hang somebody they're not going to stick around for 18 minutes. If you electrocute somebody it's not going to take 18 minutes.
