I got to the point where I was just aggravated. I wasn't able to practice. I was here to play football and I didn't have the energy to do it. The best thing for me was to go home and get better.

It's a very huge game for us. I can't explain what happened last week (against Boiling Springs). The intensity wasn't there, we just didn't play East Penn football. We showed up today, we had a good week of practice. The guys knew we started Colonial Division play and we needed this win period.

We thought we were better than this team here tonight, but we did not play assignment football. When you are playing option football, that is a big thing. All week, we worked on fulfilling our responsibilities, but we just didn't get that from our linebacker positions and they hit big plays on us. ... We can't accept that. Mentally, we didn't play like we are capable. They just out executed us.

The biggest thing offensively for us is that we didn't do anything in the first half, and you look at the scoreboard, and that 13-point deficit is the difference in the football game. We weren't playing with any energy, any emotion. We weren't focused, and we weren't able to produce.

I don't [think] -- for another five or 10 years, we're not at that point in the league -- where the home field will make that much of a difference. You should just go and play your game. If the (home) crowd has more energy, [visitors] should go and use that as well.

You could tell it aggravated him a little bit, ... When the show was over, the guy said, 'I guess I'll just take this thing home, sand the paint off and let it rust.'

We lived 13 miles from the high school and when I played baseball I'd have to hitchhike home, or if it got dark, I walked. I'm fortunate in a way. I didn't play football because nobody wants to walk home in the winter. So my legs didn't get beat up.

We didn't play very well behind him. In fact, we didn't play as well behind him as we usually do. But the one thing he does great is he stops it. Today there was a combination of things. We didn't play very well and he wasn't able to overcome it.

Lindsay's not the typical little point guard. A lot of players take a hit and can't finish a play. She can. It's a major thing. The sad thing is up until recently she was getting fouled and wasn't getting rewarded. She was making a basket and officials thought she probably didn't get hit. She gets fouled 75 percent of the time she drives.

It's not a denial thing. It's not like it's not happening. But, to me, you have got to play football first. We're not trying to be financial guys, accountants or businessmen. We're football players. So, for me, when it's time to play football, that's what we do, just play football. Business and money and contracts all take care of themselves.

For me, I never wanted this to be a negative situation, ... It was a cry out that I wanted to be here. I missed football—it sucked being at home. It was the worst thing ever, sitting at home watching your teammates practice. I want to be out there preparing for the season and getting better. Like I said, I think we have a great opportunity to make a run. I want to be a part of that.

I know that Dan Marino, Donovan McNabb and Randall Cunningham didn't exactly blow the top off the score, and they were pretty darn good football players. There is some validity to it, but the main thing is: Can you play football? And one thing that jumps out at you is what an incredible athlete he is.
