I'll admit I was ordsprog

en I'll admit I was having a little trouble in the classroom before. I wasn't failing or anything, but my coaches could see I wasn't living up to my potential. I was just going through the motions, just getting by, just staying eligible.

en At the beginning of the game, I was having trouble getting a feel for my slider. And it was hanging a lot and everything. [I] just wasn't getting it down and I wasn't working both sides of the plate like I wanted to. [I] felt like I was kind of falling off a little bit, staying on one side a little bit, and that was hurting me.

en I wasn't myself. I know I wasn't myself. The coaches know I wasn't myself. Everybody knew that I wasn't myself. It was the smart thing to do (to sit out a game).

en I guess I got in a little trouble with the check, ... I went to the coaches, told the coaches. And pretty much wasn't really focused on the [N.C. State] game, just wondering what was going to happen. From there, I came back and everything just blew up out of control.

en I made a few adjustments in batting practice. The coaches said I wasn't staying balanced on my back leg.

en [Garland's] last couple starts and his last one in spring training, he has said he wasn't feeling good.
