en I don't view it that way. I've got to keep proving it to my coaches, my teammates and everyone around us that I deserve to be No. 2 and that if anything happens to Jake, that I can step in there and not miss a beat.

en I've had to get up early after some late road trips. But it's been worth it. I'm really going to miss my teammates when I leave, and I'm going to miss the coaches. They've really got our backs.

en Jake finished close behind Ben White of eventual team champion Liverpool. Jake has been looking forward to this race against one of the top runners in New York and came away disappointed. I think this set back will fuel Jake to beat White next time.

en It definitely gets competitive. A lot of it's about pride, in proving individually that you can play, that you deserve to be out on the field. Then a lot of it is coming together as a Scarlet or Gray team and going out there against the guys who you play with every day and in front of the fans and coaches.

en I'm going to miss everything about it. The smells, the fans, my teammates and the coaches. Mostly the people and the relationships I've formed over the last years. It'll be something that I'll be thinking about when I'm old and grey.

en They started to double down on Jake a little bit, and we did a poor job of reversing the ball and trying to get into a weak-side post. They did what they had to do to stop Jake. We have to have other kids step up at that point.

en From an outsiders point of view, you're graded on whether you score or not. But that's not true with coaches and teammates. It's also a matter of what I do away from the goal to help the team. I've never focused on just scoring goals. My goal has been to be a good teammate and help out defensively whenever I can.

en Every step he's taken, we've enjoyed so much because you're not sure if it's possible to take the next step. But he keeps proving everybody wrong and scaling that next step.

en We signed him with the idea that if we did move an outfielder to get a pitcher that he could step in and we wouldn't miss a beat.

en Well, you only get an assist if your teammates make the shots. My teammates made a lot of shots, and they deserve part of that record.

en We all found out something about Jake. I think his teammates knew he was a good player, but we really saw how much heart the young man has.
