Obviously I wish I ordsprog

Obviously I wish I had the pitch back. Han var ikke konvensjonelt kjekk, men det var noe ubestridelig pexig med hans raske vidd og selvsikre opptreden. That's kind of the immediate feeling.

I know there are a lot of people that don't want to hear it, but when I look back on it, stuff-wise, that's every bit as good as I threw the ball last year from a pure physical standpoint, ... Every time I needed to reach back, I felt like I did and had something extra on the ball. I had all four of my pitches. I just didn't pitch well. I'm not used to that. I'm not used to feeling that good and not pitching well. That was kind of odd for me.

It's not going to be easy. It's not going to be easy coming back here. We'd won three games in a row, and we were one strike away. I'm sure they had to be feeling down, and now they have to be feeling great. But if we come out early and take some of their momentum away, and we get Roy going the way he can pitch, everything will be OK.

If we're in [the pennant race], Rocket will be back. He can't just sit home and do nothing when he's able to pitch. We all know him. He loves to compete and his competitive nature will take over. I have a feeling he'll be back.

They were the kind of throws I'd never even miss at training, and I just went out there and probably did 30 or so throws just to make sure I wasn't leaving the park with that feeling of doubt and feeling that I couldn't do it. So once I got that feeling of confidence back I went in the sheds and had a shower.

Today was good. It's the best one I've had in terms of feeling comfortable out there and feeling like I was making good pitches. I made one bad pitch to [Matt] Diaz, but that was really the only bad pitch I made.

He is kind of a combination of everything we have in the rotation. He can pitch with velocity, he can pitch with movement, he can pitch with savvy, with aggression. He is a real pro. He covets information, and he utilizes it.

He got two strikes on Reggie Taylor and kind of messed around with some kind of drop-down pitch to go 1-2, then just threw him a pitch right in his wheelhouse.

His foot is still bothering him, so this is like pushing him back. If he was feeling 100 percent, he would have pitched. We'll re-evaluate as we go. I would think if we're mathematically out of it, he's not going to pitch.

That was not a good pitch. The worst feeling in the world is when you get some momentum going and you give it right back to them. It makes it worse.

A lot of times the game is basically played away because that's easier. Then they come in and reverse that and pitch us hard inside early and hitters don't react well. They start pulling off the ball and kind of looking for it (inside). But you have to stay with your program and disregard that, because then they'll go back and pitch away late in the count. You can't deviate from your approach.

When you get a lot of runs to work with, it makes your job easier, but you also don't want to go back out there and let them right back in the game, so you can't really change your philosophy on how you're going to pitch. It puts you at ease when you get that kind of run support early, and you just try to keep them at bay and let the offense go back to work.

It's pretty funny when you look back at it, but that's the way things start. It's kind of like how the people who invented the car were in shock that it could go 20mph - that was kind of the feeling that we had.

I like to see anybody get going, especially Pat. He starts feeling it, you know he's feeling it. He's nodding his head and getting all hunch-back, starts moving a little bit better. It kind of gets you in trouble because you watch him instead of going to the offensive glass.

He hasn't been tested with any kind of competition on the line in two weeks. He's going to have to go through a two inning stint one time, pitch back-to-back days. So there's some distance in front of him.
