Even though we weren't making hard contact most of the time, we made them work in the field.

I was a little bit afraid that it was going to be a tough race, but somehow I was able to stay in the tow of Tracy. We have had a hard time making contact especially in the bottom half of the order and we just have been preaching to put the ball into play and good things can happen. We had several opportunities to break the game open and we didn't do it. However, this was our first game and it gives us something to work on.

We understood that it was raining and we knew that we had to be careful making our cuts. But at the same time, they played with the same field. When their offense was out there they weren't playing on a separate field. All of those things are just excuses. The bottom line is that they outplayed us today and they deserved (the win).

Half of our kids quit at one time or another during the season. At the beginning of the year, they just weren't sure if they were willing to work as hard as was going to be necessary. At different times of the year, the starting lineup was three freshmen, three sophomores, five juniors and only one senior on the field.

I thought our offensive line did an outstanding job. They opened some nice holes and made adjustments we have not been making. They played smarter and Tyler hit the seams he needed. He also made some people miss in the open field and then he finished runs when he couldn't avoid contact. It was his best game running the ball and our best game blocking.

There was confusion on the field, but I thought they just weren't sure whether Charles Johnson had made it into the end zone. Then, with time having run out, they called the teams back onto the field, but it was just to kick the extra point.

We were hitting the ball and making contact, but we just weren't able to put anything together after that. There's not much else to say about that.

Personally, I don't like shooting a lot of 3s. I want to get some drives to the basket and do some other things. You can sit out there and shoot 3s all game, easy. It's hard for me to buy into that. I want to mix it up some because I have the ability to. At the same time, we have guys who can really knock down the 3s. It made you not want to shoot any more 3s in the first half because we weren't making them, but open shots, you've got to have that confidence you can knock them down.

Old Dominion did a nice job of coming hard to goal. They were really making us play some pretty tough one on one defense. They made us work hard tonight.

I know I wouldn't have wanted anything to do with him, in terms of guarding him. His center of balance is very low. He explodes up, and typically there's contact when he's making his moves. And most of the time ... he didn't move a whole lot when there was contact and we, unfortunately, were the recipient of that blow.

At the time they (Mary) were recruiting me, they weren't too sure about making the switch. After I transferred is when they made it final.

If we do receive CAPE grant money, we are hopeful that the four facilities that host classes can become one, under the roof of a Rush County Lifelong Learning Center. The opportunities will be much more vast with additional funding. Until that time, however, we just want to encourage those in the community who are interested in taking college courses to take a big step and contact us. I am available to help with scheduling, and can assist them on where to go or who to contact. We can aid in decision-making through contact with all universities.
