The city (Fenton) is helping us by letting us move the substation onto township property, ... I appreciate the city for allowing us to do this for the sake of our residents.

The city can't tax those people outside of their jurisdiction. They can't assess them in a way to recover those costs. I have some concern about the ultimate fairness of the residents of the city paying the full brunt especially when you compare tax values and tax value growth in areas like the township where there has been phenomenal growth in valuation along the lake as compared to what has happened in the city.

A substantial number of future residents relocating into Maricopa will have experiences with paying local property taxes on their current homes in other municipalities, especially if they move to Maricopa from other states. Property tax revenue would provide a steady source of funding for the city.... Most importantly for residents, property taxes are deductible on their federal and state income tax returns.

Both the residents of Shady Lane and the city had felt for years that it was an unsafe property. Really, the bottom line was providing affordable housing that is not safe isn't an option for the city.

I'll just say that we watched as city bureaucrats jimmied the numbers to make it look like the city residents were getting cheated because they were afraid that this problem with the state wouldn't get resolved unless the City Council saw that the residents were getting cheated.

It hasn't been acted on by City Council yet, but everything has indicated it will have a positive outcome. We're helping the city, and the city's helping us out.

We need to ask the residents what they are in need of and fill that need. For too long the residents have not had a say in their city's development. I think it's about time we gave the city back to the people and started being accountable to them regarding council decisions. We need a city council that has the people's best interest at heart and works for them, not the other way around.

We are evaluating the feasibility of allowing residents to return to their respective cities to survey damages and secure their property. Residents are asked to maintain their current living arrangements and are advised to leave once their property is secured.

It's a place we use as a frontline to communicate with our residents. Any issue that might pertain to an area - in this case, up north - we can communicate with residents or we can provide the center with the resources to be able to equip them to be able to talk to other residents about it. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. It's a place where they can drop in. Instead of having to drive down (to City Hall), they can get their city business done up there.

I'm not saying it's the city's fault. But I'm saying it's the city's fault that those two dogs are walking around the city attacking people. And I think that the city should do something about helping her to the best of their ability.

I think what distinguishes this fair is the fact that everybody is involved -- city fathers, township trustees and the city workers even.

We're helping the city draw more residents, trying to attract people.

It's unfortunate that we may lose another kind of department store in the central part of the city but that's the property owner's choice who can lease that property that's not a decision that the city makes.
