If the snow was like this I would race all the time. It's not tiring when you ski like that, when the snow is that way, but I'm ready for some golf and rest, too.

We look at snow temperature and also the moisture content of the snow. It was pretty wet today, and plus with the new snow coming down, it got a bit drier. 'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease. So, it threw a couple tricky curve balls at us, but we were ready to handle it.

Despite our snow dances, there's no snow. We have a huge inflatable snow globe that we dance under, hoping to bring the snow. But so far, nothing.

We just weren't in a position to play. At the time we had to make a decision, the field was still covered in snow. But the sun we got this afternoon will give us a chance to get it ready. If we don't get much more snow, then I think we'll be OK.

It's a way to appease my snow god. Every time I did them, it would snow for a week straight afterwards. It still does, so apparently the snow god likes them.

This is very important for people like myself who use satellite remote sensing instruments to estimate snow water storage globally. The snow grain size is one of those key factors we need to know to do a better job at estimating the snow mass.

This is really good snow on a very firm base. We got all that rain mixed with the snow, and that made our base very solid. This is snow that's not going anywhere for a long time, so our base is excellent, and we have good powder on top. That's why the skiing is just great.

The track is in excellent shape. Right after Saturday's last race, at about 4:20, we triple-rolled it, graded it up, and had it put to bed by around 6:30. We were able to let it lay, and the cover of snow insulated it. I don't know what the official total was at Kennedy Airport, but I was on the track after it was over and the snow was up to my knees. I'd say it was at least 18 inches, probably more like 20.

We're talking about a snow pack that's 150 percent of average, and it's mostly still up there. Usually by this time, a lot of the snow is gone -- but we're still adding to it.

It's definitely going to get tougher. [The players] know it. But sometimes it's like when you know it's going to snow, but it doesn't hit you until you're actually out there in the snow. You can prepare and the players can be ready, but until it happens, and see how you react to a good team, you don't ever know.
